"I have to think of something, his birthday is in 5 days." I said as I was staring at the ceiling, having Gabby on the phone with me.
"Well, first of all, you have to surprise him." Gabriela said.
"No shit." I told her, rushed.
"Listen to me; you can use some kind of excuse that "babe, I have this much to study for this test and blah blah blah", don't even mention his birthday. And like I know him, he won't even think of it as long as you don't open this subject." Gabriela continued her idea.
"That's actually a good idea. Hmm, I have to get his schedule somehow." I said as I was trying to visualize a plan.
"I can ask Gavi for it, they usually share the same schedule." Gabriela offered.
"Thank you so, so, so much. Also, have you heard him saying that he needs or wants to buy something? I don't know what should I give him for his birthday." I asked her, thinking that she was my only hope.
"To be honest, I have no idea. I could try asking Gavi, tho. But aren't you on good terms with Fer?" she suggested.
"We are, of course. But I feel bad to ask him about such things when he's going through a breakup." I said.
"Man, I really feel bad for them. Sofia was perfect for him, and so he for her." Gabriela said after a few seconds of silence.
"You tell me? But she was reluctant about this for a while now, I saw how she barely talked about him, or to him." I explained.
"I mean, long distance is not for the weak." Gabriela continued.
"Maybe they will find their way back someday." I told her as I was thinking about everything that happened.
"We all will be here for it!" Gabriela said, with a tint of hope in her voice.
"Look, I already kept you long enough. I will think of something and I'll let you know what I have in mind, alright?" I said as I was getting ready to look for something Pedri might like.
"And I will give you the schedule in a minute, while I'm trying to find out something about Pedri's deepest wishes." Gabriela told me.
"Thank you so much, babs." I said as I was ready to hang up.
"Love ya, cutie."
Gabriela and I got closer recently since she found out that I might move to Barcelona, she wants to be there for me and help me with everything I need. Besides, she promised to keep me updated on everything Pedri might not want me to know, if something happened to him while I wasn't there, and so on.
It was a hard decision to make, thinking about my whole life spent here, but sometimes you do what you have to do for your loved one. Pedri and I have discussed this a lot lately, and we're both ready for this step. This is gonna be the last summer we are staying apart,

From what I'm seeing, Pedri got a free day before the match, which happens to be on the same day as his birthday. Am I crazy if I would show up at his front door just before his birthday, late at night? I just need a little more help now.
