The movie was close to ending when I noticed an irritated Pedri, disturbed by his phone buzzing.
"I'm sorry, I gotta take this." he told me quietly, as he got up from the couch and went outside to talk, while I continued watching the movie until I heard him again.
"It was my agent, something came up and I have to leave for a bit." Pedri said and I just nodded, as I understood the situation. "You can come with me if you want to." he continued as he saw me a bit upset.
"What? No, don't worry, I'll wait for you there." I told him as he held my hand and I saw him laughing at me.
"I just have to call my team from home, it's an online meeting this time. No one would see you, I promise." he explained and I thought about it for a bit.
"Alright, if you need another lawyer, sure." I joked with him and I got up, clearly annoying the rest who were watching the movie as I moved in front of the TV.
"See you later, guys." Pedri told them and I just waved at them.
"See ya." Fer told him, concentrating on the TV.
We got into the car and it was a short drive, Pedri lives close to his brother. Even though, I didn't want to stay quiet.
"What happened? Is something important?" I asked him and he searched for my hand to hold on my thigh.
"I just have to discuss some details about some contracts I made with a company, my team got noticed about a new offer and it seems pretty good, but I got distracted with other things and I almost forgot about the deadline." he explained, with a bit of amusement in his voice.
"I'm sure it's gonna be fixed alright, nothing to worry about. They usually wait when it comes to big names." I told him and he nodded in agreement.
"I have a great team and they always do amazing things, I'd be in much trouble without them." Pedri told me just before he parked the car in front of his house.
He opened the door for me and then guided me inside, and I saw an impressive home. This man really has a fine taste for everything.
"Make yourself at home." he told me as he introduced me slightly to the rooms, being in a rush with the call. "I'll be back soon, I'm in my office, right there.", pointing to a room just in front of us.
I saw him going inside, through the glass door, setting up his desk. He seemed really optimistic about this deal. I went to look for some water and then I sat on the couch, checking my phone until he was done with his things. I could see him taking glances at me at times, and when I left him a smile I could see him getting shy. I wonder what the others noticed.
Soon, his meeting would end and he was coming to me, sitting next to me on the couch, leaning for a kiss.
"I almost forgot what it feels like to have some moments of silence." he told me as he got comfortable into my arms, as I was playing with his hair.
"Honestly? Me too. I needed to get out for a bit." I told him and I saw him getting up straight away.
"Let's come back tomorrow." he told me and I just laughed for a moment, thinking about his idea.
"I mean..." I tried to say something, but he continued shortly after.
"They won't even notice, trust me." he said trying to convince me to agree with him.
"You're right." I told him and right away I saw that my mother was calling. I fixed my hair and my posture and I told Pedri to stay quiet. "Hi, mom! How are you? I miss you so much." I told her and I noticed that she was with dad. Oh my God.
