Two days before Christmas
"Hi, I'm here!" I said loudly through the moving crowd, that was hiding me a bit from Pedri and his family.
"Do you see her? Where is she?" Pedri's mother was murmuring to Pedri.
"Right there, in front of us, I see her." Pedri said, as he was waving at me, followed by smiles from them as they noticed me too.
"You're finally here, oh God! How I've missed you all." I said as I went to everyone, greeting them with a hug.
"My dear, you changed a lot since I saw you last time!" his mother said, as she grabbed my face gently.
"I hope it's for the best!" I told her, receiving her words with a smile.
"She's the same sweetheart, what are you talking about?" his father said, giving me a hug aswell.
"You stole her from me, fair enough..." Pedri said, pretending to be annoyed.
"Well, I haven't talked to them like I did with you." I told him, as he was mimicking me, but he got over it sooner, as I placed a quick kiss on his cheek. "Fer! How are you?" I continued, as I went to him.
"All good, very happy to be here!" he said, being genuine about his feelings.
"My parents are waiting for us at home, and I bet you really want to eat something and relax for a bit after the flight." I said as I guided them to my car.
"It's so cold there that you might find penguins around, Jesus. How can you live here while it's cold?" Fer said, rushing into the backseat as soon as I closed the trunk.
"It's been worse than that. Years ago you barely could walk on the street from snowing." I explained, as everyone was getting comfortable inside.
"I see why you want to move to Barcelona." he continued.
"You will get used here, too." I said, while Pedri was trying to hold his laugh.
"Tomorrow I hope I can show you the city, depends on my parents too. I might need to help them around the house." I told them as I was getting ready to drive back home.
"My dear, it's not like we will watch you doing all the work." Pedri's mother said.
"Please, I want you to feel like home. You don't have to do anything." I said quickly.
"It's the least we can do for you, besides, it's not like we don't do anything at home too." Pedri said and I gave him a look.
"Shut up." I told him, annoyed.
"If you have any preference over the food, or something, please tell us. We are making our traditional food anyway, if you're curious about it, but if it's something you have for Christmas at home, we can have it too." I explained.
"We'll keep that in mind, sweetheart, thank you." Pedri's mother continued, while the rest of them were looking over the window, as Pedri was trying to tell them about the city from what he remembered I told him.
Soon enough we arrived at home, where my parents were waiting outside for us, barely having patience to greet our guests. Pedri's parents and Fer were surprised that my parents were so happy to finally meet them, not to mention the enthusiasm they showed when they saw Pedri again after a long time, maybe thinking all this time that I was just trying to be nice to them.
"It's so great to finally have you here! We are so happy that we can spend the holidays together." my mother said as she welcomed everybody inside, helping with the luggage they had, along with my father.
