"WOW!" Umiko exclaimed as Saitama explained what happened. "And you still managed to make it to that sale? That's impressive, even for you." She added. "And that carnage cabbage guy?" She asked, amazed.
"It's Kabuto." Corrected the cyborg. "O-oh! Of course! My apologies." Umiko apologized, a little ashamed. "Uh... so, did the Kabuto guy do... that... to Genos?" Umiko asked Saitama with concern, referring to the cyborg.
This time he got his beaten with all four of his limbs intact, but his hair was burned into a large Afro, his face was damaged again, but for the most part, he was still alive for the most part.
Saitama nodded in confirmation. "Yeah," the caped baldy replied. "The overgrown cockroach literally blew Genos's fire blast thing right back at him, messed up his hair too." He laughed, poking at it with his red gloved hand.
"Hey, if it's permanent, I can help you braid it down. I helped my older brother with his hair before he moved out." She giggled. "He had this Afro that REFUSED to listen to reason."
Now Genos's curiosity was piqued. Umiko has siblings? How many? Was she the youngest? Middle? He couldn't help but wonder. "How many siblings do you have?" He asked. "I'm the youngest of five." she said, holding up five fingers, wiggling her thumb as to show that she was the youngest. "And how... old are you?" Continued Genos, glancing around her apartment.
"I'm sixteen." She confirmed. So his suspicions about how old she was were confirmed. Saitama began to explain to Umiko the events after the House of evolution, and how Saitama literally grabbed Genos by the back of his collar to get to that sale faster. As Umiko listened, Genos glanced and analyzed every item he could see.
Umiko didn't have a lot in her apartment. A single blue wardrobe, an empty bookcase next to said wardrobe, a full-length mirror on the side of her bookcase, a rolled up futon, from the looks of it handmade, and her kotatsu. But on her empty bookshelf were framed pictures of her family. One picture his eyes landed on was a picture of a couple. A man and a woman. The woman looked regal, seductive, and merciless. The
Man looked chubby, kind, and warm. The woman was of African decent of some kind, and the man was a pale ginger, with a long, thick curly hair. Those two must be her parents. And to Genos, the only thing she got from her mother was her melanin. The rest came from her father. Especially her bright red hair."Who are these two, Miss Umiko? Your parents?" Genos asked out of the blue, interrupting Saitama.
"Oh, uh, yeah- that's my mom and my dad." She said, getting up from the table and moving over to her bookshelf, pulling out the framed couple. "That lady right there is my mom, Aquamarine. And the guy is my dad, Lester." Umiko said, pointing the two out. My dad was a deep sea fisherman. I don't really know what my mom did besides being a stay at home mom." Umiko smiled proudly as she spoke about her parents with love.
"I see." Genos said. "You have your fathers' chubby, welcoming demeanor." He added with total seriousness.
Saitama bumped shoulders with Genos for a moment, hissing at him to not say a girl looks like her dad. "No- it's alright. There's nothing to worry about! I don't mind it at all." She awkwardly laughed. "Really, it's fine." Added Umiko, her cheeks tinted with a bit of embarrassment.
"Oh, my bad. Compliment away, Genos." Saitama said, taking a drink from his tea. "So, do you two live together?" Umiko asked, pointing between the two. Just as Saitama said "No" Genos said "eventually."
"Oh hell nah, you ain't sleeping in my apartment tonight." Saitama disagreed. "See if Umiko would want to keep you for the night." Saitama motioned twords Umiko, who was blushing a bit. "H- He- he doesn't have to if he doesn't want too! But I'd be happy to let him have my futon for the night!" Umiko smiled, waving awkwardly as she was.
Genos felt his cheeks heat a bit when Umiko offered himself her own bed tonight, "You don't have to offer me your only bed- we can share." Genos bluntly said, finishing off his tea. That's when her cheeks burned red. "I- I-" She stammered.
Saitama took this as a sign to leave and cook himself dinner. "Alright, I'm gonna leave you two to it. Have a good night." Saitama casually replied, getting up and leaving from the apartment, leaving the two to argue about who deserved the bed more.
"Really! You don't need to give me the bed, it's yours for the night! Truely!" Umiko babbled. "I am fine with sharing with you, Umiko. I will make sure that you won't feel uncomfortable." Genos said, not having it. "I mean- I'm just-"
"Just what?"
"Just a little flustered. And surprised. That's all!" Umiko laughed.
"Oh, well don't be. I won't make you feel uncomfortable, and we won't have to cuddle, if that's what you were thanking." He said, making an attempt to calm her down. "Oh- yeah! definitely. We're good." Umiko confirmed, holding up two thumbs for him. "Then if you don't mind, could I borrow your sink to wash my hair?" He asked her, pointing to his puffed up hair. "Yeah! Of course, knock yourself out." Umiko got up to show Genos her kitchen, and where her bathroom was in case he ever needed it.
Umiko offered him her hair product that she used to maintain her hair's shine. "Thank you, miss Umiko." He said with the slightest smile as he was handed her shampoo and conditioner bottles.
Umiko smiled back warmly at Genos.
"Just call me Umiko."
