"So you are part sea monster?" Genos asked, as Saitama helped himself to the popcorn he had popped a few minutes ago.
Umiko nodded in reply, helping Genos sit down next to her, Umiko sitting on Genos's right side, the side with his one good arm. "Mhmm." She hummed in reply. Umiko had a towel wrapped around her head, trying to dry her immensely curly red hair.
"It's been like that since I was born. I don't exactly know how it works. Kinda like flight or flight." Added the redhead.
"So uh, your family know?" Saitama asked, his voice muffled from the popcorn he casually shoved in his mouth.
"Yeah. They're just like me. They all... got it under control." Umiko sighed, leaning her head on Genos.
"I see. So I asssume that's where you were able to prevent me from being crushed by the Deep Sea King." Genos spoke aloud, resting his head on her own. "But how did you get there so fast?" Genos asked her.
Umiko blushed a bit; her eyes widening as she glanced away in embarrassment.
"I dunno... bad vibes, really. A little after you left me at that bakery- I felt like something was wrong. Gut feeling, really. So I hopped on a train to J-City. Where you said you were going." She explained.
'Bad vibes? Really Umiko? Are you that stupid to say that out loud?' Umiko mentally shamed herself.
"That is quite interesting, Umiko. You felt something was wrong, and you followed me. You saved me. I was supposed to save you more than anything, and yet, you saved me." Genos replied.
"You two confuse me. You're all lovey-Dovey with each other and yet you two keep denying that you're dating." He sighed, setting his bowel of popcorn on the kotatsu in his little apartment.
Saitama leaned back on the wall, crossing his legs, sitting down. "But still though- you're a pretty chubby girl -no offense-, but Genos basically said you blitzed over there. I thought you couldn't do that kind
Of thing, considering the body type and all." Saitama inquired."I don't know. I don't exactly think straight when I'm like that." She replies. "When I'm like that, I'm running on base instinct. It's either fight, flight, or protect." Umiko replied as Genos snaked his arm around her shoulder.
"But still, You saved me. I promise you from now on, you shall not worry about protecting me. I will protect you." He calmly and softly spoke, his deep voice letting Umiko calm down.
"Thank you, Genos." She smiled back.
"So... what about your siblings? They lnow how to train your uh, monster thing?" Saitama asked.
"Yep." She confirmed. "It's probably why they wanted me to come back with them after I ran." Umiko confirmed.
"Oh, yes, I remember that. Your eldest brother, Shui, was quite aggressive with both of us." Genos confirmed, nodding a little in reply.
Umiko took her head off of Genos's shoulder to unwrap her towel from her hair, which had completely dried off at this point, her eyes now its usual uncanny blue, a hue of blue Genos had come to find comfort in over those few months he had come to know her.
"Your ears are human again. Does this mean you calmed down?" Genos asked curiously.
"I... think so! I'm not panicking." She agreed.
"So Genos," Saitama interjected after a few moments of silence from the two teenagers staring at each other, shifting on his bottom.
"How you gonna get fixed up this time?" He asked.
