Chapter Ten: A Chat With The Doctor

    "SO what is the issue, son? There's nothing wrong with your vitals, and every scan I ran on you came up clean." Said Dr. Kuseno, the brilliant mind behind Genos's incredible cybernetic body. The old man and the cyborg were currently in the hidden laboratory, checking out all  Genos's vitals, brain, his core, his everything.

      Genos's eyes widened. "What do you mean doctor? I am malfunctioning! Every time I look at Umiko-"

     "Every time you look at who?" The doctor asked, eyebrows raised. "A girl? That name sounds like it belongs to a lady." Giggled the old man.

    "Yes, Umiko is female. But that has nothing to do with this! Every time I look at her or come into contact with her, my body feels like it's going to shut down! My mind feels fuzzy and-" Genos was cut off by the doctor.

    "Oh. I see now, I think I may understand your so-called 'problem' now." Dr. Kuseno sat down in his chair.

    "What is it, doctor? What's wrong with me?" Genos asked.

     "Simple, Genos. You have a crush on this Umiko girl." The doctor said calmly.

     "What?! Impossible- I don't feel that sort of way! I never had! What makes a sixteen year old girl I know nothing about make me have a crush on a her?!" The Cyborg ranted. 

     "Well, you're still a teenage boy, Genos. You can still have crushes and what not. It's normal! Go explore your feelings. It's healthy, Genos l-" The doctor could barely finish his sentence. He was too busy laughing his old man lungs out.

    "Dr. Kuseno! This isn't funny! I am seriously malfunctioning- I- I canNOT have such immature feelings about my neighbor!" Genos hissed, his cheeks burning red.

    "Oooh! She's your neighbor? Wonderful! You should bring her over sometime! I'd love to meet your little girlfriend-"

    "She's not my girlfriend-"

    "Nonsense. As your doctor, I'm prescribing you to get to know Umiko better! Alrighty, boy?" The doctor said with a smile.

    Genos was stunned. Something was wrong with him! Not teenage hormones! Genos was frustrated. "How do I get rid of this supposed 'crush'?" Genos asked out of the blue. Wiping away a tear from his laughter, the doctor spoke aloud.

    "Genos, you can't force feelings down. Most of the time a crush will pass away on its own." The doctor said, putting a hand on Genos's shoulder. "So... if I ignore it... will it go away?" Asked the cyborg. "What? No-" the doctor's warning was ignored. "Thank you doctor. I appreciate your wise words, Dr. Kuseno." The blonde ran off, leaving the doctor alone in the laboratory.

    "That boy will be the end of me, I swear..." the old man mumbled, sighing.

     Four days later, Umiko was in her apartment, brewing up some of her nicest tea, cleaning off her kitchen countertop. She had invited Genos over to hang out and just drink tea. It was really the only thing she felt she could offer that Genos would enjoy.

      She had slicked her hair back a little to show off her face in full. She didn't exactly show off her face, as she didn't feel she had anyone to show her face off too. She had actually whipped out some makeup for this occasion. Now, why was Umiko dolling herself up?

     She was going to ask Genos out on a date.

     Umiko had been thinking about it for a few days. She wondered if Genos would even say yes. And well, she would know if he felt the same way if he said yes.

      But he had been distant a little for these past few days. She didn't know why, but he was being more... stiff with her. He would just reply to questions with a yes or a no, and avoid eye contact. It concerned her.

   As she came to this realization, she figured that Genos maybe not interested in dating at the moment. "I'm so stupid. What am I thinking? Asking out a guy who's probably not interested out on a date?" She griped. But either way, hanging out with him would make her happy enough.

     At a knock at her door, she immediately knew that it was Genos. She rushed to the door flinging it wide open to see... Not Genos? But instead a woman with pin straight dark green hair, a long emerald green dress, accompanied by a long white coat hanging on her shoulders

     "Can I... help you miss... um... miss...?" Umiko stammered out in confusion. "Blizzard. Hellish Blizzard. Does the hero known as Caped Baldly live here?"
