[I can't draw :(( ]SHOPPING for the door Umiko needed wasn't a problem, but getting to the checkout was. "Huh, wonder how long it's gonna take to get outta here." Uniko mumbled, looking ahead of the back of the line, which they were in. Umiko was currently sporting her new earrings, which she wore with pride, while Genos stood beside her, holding the door at his right side, looking a little impatient. "I would not be surprised if it took at least three hours." He griped. Umiko huffed, upset at the prospect at waiting for three hours. "Man, and I wanted to put the new door up in the same day too." She sighed. "I wonder what's going on up there." Inquired the girl, trying to see over shoulders and heads. "You see anything up there?" Umiko joked, playfully shoving him. "Barely, Umiko. But it appears that there is an elderly man attempting to pay for his supplies with expired coupons." Genos said, looking ahead the crowed. "Oof, that's no bueno." She sighed. The girl rested her head on his shoulder, at the perfect height to do so, her cheek pressed up against his shoulder plait.
"Wait, the man is moving on now... with police escorts." Genos said, getting ready to move up. "Ooh! Thank goodness!" Umiko exhaled a sigh of relief. "We may get out of here before winter comes!" Joked the girl.
"What do you mean, Umiko? Of course we would get out before winter. But I do appreciate your humor." Genos replied as the line finally got moving. "So how did you know I wanted those earrings?" Umiko asked. "I mean, I've been wanting them for forever." Umiko asked.
"Simple. I followed you today to get your phone back to you, and when I saw you eying those earrings, I figured you would want them." Genos replied almost instantly, the hesitation in his voice nonexistent.
"So that's how you found me! Huh, I dunno why, but I thought you had a tracker for me or something!" Umiko laughed.
'That's not a bad idea.' Genos thought to himself. "Do you get lost a lot?" He asked her. Her face flushed red in embarrassment. "I- I mean- no! No way! Of course not!" She cackled with shame. "I see..." Genos mumbled as they approached the checkout stand. The door was rung up, and the cashier spoke: "alrighty, that'll be two hundred and seventy one dollars and four cents, how will you be paying today?" Asked the clerk. Genos spoke for Umiko. "Cash." Genos said, pulling his wallet out. "Wait! Hey-" Umiko reached for his wallet to get it away from him, but Genos used the door to block Umiko from trying to pay. It was quite humorous to bystanders.
"Lemme pay, Genos!" Umiko hissed, trying to jump up to pay. "It would be disrespectful to allow you to pay for something I was responsible for breaking." Genos said in a calm manner. Genos quickly grabbed his change and grabbed Umiko by her waist, and carrying her out. "Oh come on! Now I can't walk by myself?!" She yelled angrily, huffing in defiance as Genos carried her out of the store. "You walk too slow." Genos factually stated, walking with Umiko in one arm, and her door in the other. "Well- you- you walk way too fast!" Umiko shot back.
"That's a childish argument, Umiko." Genos replied, ignoring the stares he was getting. "Oh be quiet! We're similar in age! You're barely three years older than me." Umiko griped in reply.
"You're amusing, Umiko." Genos silently chuckled. "Amusing!? What makes you say that?!" Umiko yelled.
"You're making such a big deal over me paying for your door and carrying you. Umiko, I'm happy to do this. There is no need to act in such a way." Genos said, reluctantly putting Umiko down. "I'll let you carry the door if it makes you feel better." Genos said, handing her the door. "Here." He said.
Umiko took the door, heaving a bit. "Oh- this is actually kinda heavy-" heaved the girl. "Would you like me to take it back?" Inquired the blonde cyborg. "No, no- I can take it!" She huffed, struggling to keep the door above her ankles. "Let me take the door. You shouldn't carry things that you can't handle." Genos said calmly, taking the door back. "Aw." Umiko whined. "Alright then." She sighed, letting Genos take care of her door.
The two had light conversation about mudane things, like what kind of things they enjoyed. Mainly, comfort food they enjoyed as little kids. "You liked sardines dipped in oil? It sounds incredibly plain..." Umiko said. "It is." Replied the blonde boy. "But i didn't grow up with much. My family pinched Pennies, but we were happy." Genos said softly.
"Oh, I didn't know." Umiko replied bashfully. "I-uh, had an addiction to goldfish when I was a toddler. And tub butter." Umiko laughed.
Genos's eyes widened. "You're lying." He replied, bewildered. "No child would EVER eat such unhealthy things."
"I was a very hungry child." She laughed awkwardly. "I could tell." He agreed. "But still, if I could break into the butter tub, then I guess I had a privileged enough childhood to do such things." Umiko smiled."That is true, Umiko. Oh, we're almost home. I'll put up the door." Genos pointed out, gesturing to her new door. "Really? You sure you don't think I should put it up?" Umiko asked. "No, it's alright. I believe it shouldn't be too difficult." Genos said calmly, taking a few steps, then waiting a bit for Umiko to catch up.
This cycle continued on for a bit, until they reached her apartment. "Alrighty! Let's put that door in." Umiko smiled, holding a thumbs up. Genos held a thumb up too, only for the top half of his thumb flipped open to reveal a screwdriver. "Let's." Genos agreed. Umiko's beautiful blue eyes widened in shock. "Oh!" She gasped in surprise. "I keep forgetting your a cyborg!" She giggled.
Genos raised an eyebrow. 'Really? How could she even say that? I'm very obviously a cyborg.' He thought. "I see." Replied the boy. Genos quickly got to work, Umiko being his personal cheerleader.
Genos finished about ten minutes later. "Done. We should go back to master's apartment to get your bag." Genos suggested. "Oh! Your right! I just about forgot about that." Umiko palmed herself on her forehead, sticking her tounge out playfully.
Genos followed Umiko up to his and Saitama's apartment. Genos watched as Umiko attempted to open the door. "Huh, it's locked. You got a key?" Umiko asked. "I do." Replied the boy. Genos very quickly unlocked the door, allowing Umiko inside. Saitama left a note on the table that said "had stuff to do with some tornado chick. Be back tomorrow."
"Huh. He won't be back till tomorrow? Wonder what he's doing." Umiko mumbled to herself. "I believe Master said he had business to attend with S-Class Rank two hero, terrible tornado." Genos stated calmly. "Oh! I heard she's the most beautiful hero! Is that true?" Umiko asked him, her eyes sparking a bit. "She is top ranked in popularity and looks, but personally, she isn't my type." Genos shrugged as Umiko went to go get her bag. "Your type? What's your type?" Umiko asked from the other room.
'My type?' If I told her my type she'd probably look at me like I'm crazy.' He thought to himself. "My type?" He replied. "my type... my type is curvy girls I suppose. Chubbier women. You?" Genos asked, dismissing his words casually.
"My type? I basically got two requirements. Be taller than me, and like me." Umiko proudly replied as she walked into the hallway, her bag slung over her shoulder. "That's quite bare-boned." Genos added. "Well, I never really dated a lot, so I don't really have high standards." Replied Umiko, looking to the side. "I don't uh- never mind! Words were lost on me." Umiko awkwardly laughed, rubbing the back of her neck. "Anywho! I'm gonna get going back to my apartment now! Anywh- aw cannoli's I mean- I say anywho a lot! Okayimgonnagonye!" Umiko awkwardly laughed, her cheeks being bright pink, contrasting her dark skin.
"You don't need to leave, Umiko. You can... stay? For the night, of course." Genos suggested. "A-Again? I mean- I don't wanna burden you any longer!" Umiko replied.
"Burden me? Why do you think you're burdening me?" Genos asked, concerned about her. "Oh, it's nothing! You do so much for me I just don't want to bug you and- mmnpph!?" Umiko's last few words were silenced by synthetic lips smashed against her own lips.
As Genos reluctantly pulled away, he spoke in a soft tone of voice, unusual for himself, he spoke: "You never bothered me, Umiko."
