GENOS and Saitama were running back, moving at what would be barely considered the speed of sound, not a word really being spoken.

It was a long day, Genos getting defeated and nearly killed by an overgrown cockroach that his teacher had to kill with a singular punch. Genos refused to believe that his teacher only did a hundred pushups, sit-ups, squats, and a ten km run every day. That was just a basic training regimen! Any average joe could do that!

But a small thing that resided in the back of his mind, while following his sensi as they neared closer and closer to city Z, was that girl. The one who lived above his master. When he put his number in her phone, he felt that something was... strange. He hadn't ever really felt it before, like shock to his core that made him shut down for a split second.

As he ran home, Genos ran diagnostic over diagnostic, his internal processing system coming up with nothing. Was it just a shock? He couldn't logically grasp it.

"Hey Genos?" Saitama asked, turning his head to him while the descended the mountain the hidden laboratory was located. "Didn't you say you'd call Umiko or whatever? I just remembered."

"Of course, thank you sensei, I had forgotten." No he didn't. Genos hasn't forgotten a thing since he became a cyborg, every memory, every emotion, he remembered.

He also remembered her face, the way her hair curled, her chubby cheeks, her stupidly happy smile, it makes her hard to forget.

Genos whipped out his flip phone, and quickly dialed in her number. It only took half a second for Umiko to pick up.

"Genos! Hey! What's up? Everything go okay?" She asked, the awkwardness in her tone evident as Umiko spoke. "We are well. I need repairs, but I shall manage. We will be home in approximately thirty-four minutes. We will see you when you return." Replied the blonde cyborg.

"Oki-doki then! See you later?" She asked, her voice laced with hope.

"See you later, miss Umiko." Genos said, hanging up the phone.

______________

Umiko giggled happily as she jumped around her room. She couldn't believe he said that he would see her later!

While she had a feeling he didn't mean it literally, a girl could hope, couldn't she? Umiko had always had dreams of meeting a cute guy one day, like in her childhood storybooks and movies. She wondered if Genos was thinking about her, silly thoughts, she knew. But Umiko knew better than to hang her hopes on a cybernetic guy she met a week ago and had brief conversations with.

But the way he just said it, it made her hear flutter and jolt beyond belief. She rushed twords her bathroom, fluffing her hair up and pushing her bangs back, rubbing the little sleepiness out of her eyes and checking herself out in the mirror to make sure there are no imperfections. If she could afford to do up her face a little, she would.

So, she whipped up some of her best tea, (her only tea, really) three cups, and neatly made up her kotatsu, and cleaning up what little possessions she had, dusting off her family portraits, her bookshelf, and wiping off her windows.

Exactly thirty four minutes later, a knock rapped at her front door. She rushed over, opening the door to see Genos and Saitama.

"Hey! Welcome in- I have tea made!" She smiled, ushering them in. "Hey Umiko. Tea? Thanks-" Saitama smiled, immediately sitting down at her kotatsu. "Thank you, miss Umiko." Genos added, following his teacher and sitting besides him. Umiko joined the two, sitting across from them.

"How did it go?" She asked eagerly.
