GALA EVENT - NEXT EVENING, 7: 50 PM

The hum of conversation and glasses fills the grand ballroom, seating capacity fully met, as Seoul's elite comes together for its annual charity gala. Glittering chandeliers cast their warm lights over stylishly clad guests, bathing the atmosphere in refinement and expectation. Jungkook moves with confidence in his sharp black tuxedo as he greets people. Even though he has his exterior polished to a shine, his mind remains caught up by thoughts of last night.

Suddenly, the entrance is surrounded by reporters madly flashing cameras as Jungkook makes his way down the red carpet.

"Mr. Jeon, over here!" a reporter calls out, pushing forward. "Can you comment on the fire at your car godown last night?"

Jungkook comes to a halt, turning toward her with a very well-trained smile that stopped somewhere short of his eyes. "It was an unfortunate incident," he replied tightly. "But rest assured, we are taking all necessary steps to address the situation."

Another reporter jumps in quickly. "Do you have any suspects, Mr. Jeon? Rumors are swirling about who might be behind the attack."

Jungkook's smile freezes, but his eyes turn razor-sharp. "Well, I really can't say much at the moment, but let's just say those responsible will be found."

He pauses to create a high effect, then tacks on at the end, "You know, it's not unusual in our line of work to have enemies. Some people just can't handle competition."

All of the reporters looked at one another. They knew that there might be more to this story. "Are you saying it was sabotage?" a third reporter asked.

Jungkook's face hardens, and he inches a little forward before he lowers his voice to a near conspiracy tone. "Let's just say certain families around this city aren't too pleased about my success. Those families have a history of using… less than honorable methods to handle their grievances."

The implication just hangs there in the air as reporters' eyes go wide and they start scribbling furiously into their notebooks.

"Are you referring to the Park family?" a reporter tries cautiously.

The mention of their name seems to bring Jungkook to attention, his smile reappearing, edged by threat now. "I'm not pointing fingers anyone. But if I were in their shoes, I would be very worried about such actions' consequences."

With that, Jungkook leaves them guessing as he walks into the ball hall of the gala, where things are way more lax, goes to the bar to order a drink, and surveys the room.

He feels a presence beside him as he sips his whiskey. Turning around, he met Jimin, tailored in a fitted suit and effortlessly chic. Their eyes lock, understanding passing silently between them.

"Nice entrance," Jimin says, raising his glass in a mock toast. "Subtle as always, Jeon."

Jungkook smirks, clinking his glass against Jimin's. "Just making sure the right message gets out. You should know by now, Park, I don't do subtle things."

Jimin chuckled, though there was no humor in it. "Well, you've certainly stirred the pot. Let's hope that it works in our favor."

Jungkook takes a slow sip of his drink, never taking his eyes off Jimin's. "It will. And when it does, we'll make sure everyone knows who's really in control."

Jimin's gaze is steely, but he nods, understanding how grave their situation is. It is a dangerous game they're playing, and the stakes have surely risen higher. But for now, they are both ready for whatever comes next.
