The blinds were drawn, restricting any speck of moonlight from coming through. Soft lofi music played from the speakers, reverberating through the room. Jiyun's night light was dimmed but bright enough for her to see.

A book rested on her lap with her knees pulled together. Her book of promises, specifically. Her dominant hand grasped a pen while her other held her phone to her ear. She leaned back against her headrest, humming in contentment as she listened to the rambling from her boyfriend.

"Dude you should have seen it- wait actually I think it was recorded, it might be shown in a clip in our vlogs. Well, hopefully. You should hear the story about Haechan's pinky from himself, he makes it funnier. Yo- by the way I saw this really cool like um what was it? Oh- right! Yeah a really cool necklace. It like changes colours depending on the weather like if it's cold or hot. Anyways, I bought it for you so we should meet up soon so that I can pass it to you." Mark finally finished, realising that he hadn't let the girl speak a single word. "Oh oops I talk too much, what are you doing anyways?"

"I'm listening to a hottie talk about his obsession with me."
"Yo- I wouldn't say that 'obsession' is the right word. I love you that's all. We're dating anyways, and I was being serious."
"I'm writing in my book of promises for you."

This piqued Mark's interest, sitting up in his place which gave out a ruffling sound that could be heard by the girl over the phone. "Ohh what is the latest one?" He tried his luck.

"You know It's a secret."
"Then can you tell me what number you're at?"
"Hmmm...that's fine I guess. I am at number 153. Time flies huh? Remember when I started this when we first became besties."

"That's actually crazy." Mark replied, thinking back to their ridiculous pact to become friends minutes after Jiyun had innocently bullied him. "I have a love hate relationship with this whole calling thing. I want to talk to you in person you know? But at the same time I thank god for the invention of these devices so that I can at least still talk to you, and not be deprived of your voice."

Jiyun's heart warmed at his words, touched by his efforts to just simply prioritise and spend time with her despite his busy work schedule, albeit by a phone call. "I get what you mean. If this didn't exist I'd be long distancing with my very own hottie."

"Dude you need to stop calling me hottie, it's just so- weird? I get goosebumps everytime you call me that."
"And you need to stop calling me dude," Jiyun deadpanned. "At least hottie has a ring to it, and is something that people actually call their significant other by, not 'dude'."
