"Yun- yun! Are you okay? You're worrying me, what's wrong?" Mark's arms were wrapped around her, tugging her head under his chin as he gently stroked her hair. Jiyun's choked sobs was the only sound resonating inside his room, slicing through the previously serene atmosphere before she had came unannounced.

She shook her head, snuggling closer to him to chase his soothing warmth. Her lips trembled, tears cascading down her delicate skin. Her breathing was uneven as panic surged through her body, feeling incapable and helpless.

"It's okay, I'm here. You don't have to tell me anything if you don't want to," Mark muttered, his voice barely above a whisper. His chest ached agonizingly as he held his girlfriend, wishing that he could just magically take her pain away from her.

The two stayed in that position, Jiyun in Mark's arms, just on the ground right by the closed door of his bedroom. Mark's soft humming helped to calm her down, and his small strokes on the back of her palm grounded her.

It took a while for her cries to stop, her sniffling slowed to short, quiet breaths. No one spoke a word still, Mark not wanting to initiate anything unless she was up for it. He simply offered his own presence, one that she seemed to love.

Exhaustion was evident on Jiyun's face as Mark looked down at her, tilting her head to see her face. Using his thumb, he wiped away any remnants of her tears, his lips forming a frown as he looked into her unusually dull eyes. "I don't want to leave you," she broke the silence, her voice coming out slightly hoarse from crying.

"Why would you say that? I'm not going anywhere, yun," Mark replied, tucking her loose strands of hair behind her ear.

"Just...I'm just scared," Jiyun confessed softly, turning her head away, scared that he could see through her like he always did.

Mark's brows furrowed in worry, wanting to interrogate her but not wanting to overstep her boundaries. "You don't have to worry over something that won't happen. You're the only one I want, I can't imagine myself with anyone else. Not having you by my side is my biggest nightmare and being by your side is my greatest dream."

Instead of words that would normally make Jiyun feel better, it only made the sting in her chest grow. Her eyes grew teary again but this time, she blinked them back. "What if...what if it was someone else that breaks us apart," Jiyun quietly questioned, trying her best to maintain a stable tone.
