It doesn't matter.

After holding each other for a while, Iris's tears come to an end and she pulls away from Glenn's embrace, "we should carry on" she says, turning and walking to the next house. They make their way to the drive of the house, Michonne and Rick are looking through, Iris walks into the house, leaving the others and she walks up the stairs. She looks through the rooms, opening the draws and going through the wardrobes.

She walks out of the house and see's Noah still sitting crying on the floor, she looks down at her hands, before walking over to him "give us a minute" she says looking at Tyrese, the man walks away and leaves Iris with Noah. She sits on the floor next to him, she rests her arms on her knees, covering the red stains.

She looks up at the sky before taking a deep breath, "i'm sorry this happened" she says "i know what it's like to lose your family... I'm not really good with all of this feelings shit... Beth was" she adds, but the boy continues to cry "but... She's not here... and all i can do is tell you, that you have to keep going for them... For her... you need to keep living. Watch the world heal, because they cant... you need to survive for them" Iris explains, standing up and walking away from the boy and Tyrese walks back over to Noah.

After walking around Iris meets up with Rick, Michonne and Glenn once again. "We could put some of the garage doors together against the break. Park a car against them until we can brick it back up. It can work." Michonne says "This place is surrounded by a forest. There's no sight lines. Whoever, whatever would be on top of us without us even knowing it. That's probably what happened." Rick says. Iris keeps her head down and listens to the conversation.

"That's what happened to us." Glenn adds "We could start taking down the trees. We use them to build the walls up. Look." Michonne says, leading them away, they walk through the broken wall and Iris looks around, dismembered bodies spread across the floor. "It doesn't matter." Glenn says "What?" Rick asks "You said you wondered if it even mattered if you killed her or not. It doesn't matter if you had done it or if I had, or that Daryl did. It doesn't matter." Glenn explains.

"Washington. Eugene lied about a cure, but he thought of Washington for a reason." Michonne says, "But he was lying." "About the cure, but he did the math and realised that Washington was the place where there'd be a chance. We're close. What if there are people there? Huh? What if it's someplace that we can be safe? We're 100 miles away. It's a possibility. It's a chance. Instead of just being out here. Instead of just making it. Because right now, this is what making it looks like. Don't you want one more day with a chance?" Michonne asks.

Iris looks over to walkers making their way over to them, "We should go." Rick says, Iris turns and starts walking away stopping when Rick speaks up again, "It's 100 miles away... We should go to Washington." "Rick! Help, Rick! Glenn! Michonne! Iris!" Iris pulls her knives out of her belt and starts running to him with the others. They come across two walkers on top of Noah as he fights them off with a piece of terrace he had found.

Iris moves up the porch steps with Glenn, taking out one of the walkers while he takes out the other, and Rick and Michonne fight off more, "It's Tyreese!" Noah says, trying to catch his breath "Where?" "My house. He's been bit." he says before running off and leading the others to the house.

They run into the house, climbing the stairs and running into the room, they find the man sitting on the floor, his arm covered in his blood. Iris quickly puts her knives back into her belt and she crouches down next to the man. "Okay Rick grab onto his arm" she says before tying a belt Glenn had handed her around Tyrese's bicep, "glenn hold him still" she orders, using all her strength to pull on the belt and keep it as tight as possible, she looks up at Michonne, "do it!" She shouts, watching the woman cut through the man's arm with her sword.

Iris stands, pulling her knives out and running ahead from the others as they carry Tyrese's body, through the streets, killing the walkers and running through the empty roads, and back through the trees. Iris opens the door to the van, climbing onto the driver's seat and trying to start the van while they get him into the back. Iris presses down on the gas but the van doesn't move "fuck!" she shouts, suddenly the vehicle moves, crashing into the back of a truck, the boot pops open and dismembered walkers fall out.

Iris looks at one of the walkers as it tries to bite her through the glass, a 'W' has been carved into the forehead of the walker, Ignoring it she tries to drive again, spreading off, blocking out everyone else as she focuses on the road. After driving for a while Rick places his hand on her shoulder, she looks over at him before looking in the rear view mirror and seeing Tyrese. She pulled the car to a stop on the side of the road.

Together they lay him on the road, "shit!" she shouts before walking away from the others, she runs her hands through her hair and pulls at the roots before looking at her hands, more blood covering them. No matter how hard you try in this world, blood will always cover your hands, staining your mind. Reminding you of the people you've lost, the ones you couldn't save. And the ones you've killed. The innocent and the wicked.

A/N:

This chapter probably doesn't follow the right timeline, but this episode is really hard to follow so it's the best I could do.
