Chapter 116.

You're not gonna win.

"You know what? You suck ass, Rick. You really do. I don't want to have to kill her, but that's exactly what you're gonna make me do." Negan shouts, "Let me see her." Rick demands, "All right. Just give me a second. I might have to get her up to speed. You can't hear shit inside this thing." Negan says, turning to the casket.

He raises his bat and knocks it against the box "Sash. You're not gonna believe this crap." Negan says opening the casket, "Holy goddamn!" Negan shouts as a dead Sasha lunges for him, a gunshot goes off and Iris takes this as her chance, she raises her gun and shoots the scavengers pointing their gun at Juniper, she spins around shooting the others, while keeping Juniper in her peripheral vision.

Iris keeps shooting as she starts walking through Alexandria, Daryl walking next to her doing the same, Juniper stays close, keeping an eye on behind them. Iris looks at Daryl one last time before splitting off from him and going a different way, Juniper stays close to her sister, shooting anyone that tries to come near them, suddenly someone grabs onto Iris's hair as another person fights with her to take her gun.

Iris fights against them, "Juniper run!" Iris shouts as the men take her gun, as she watches her sister run she stops fighting, a small smile making its way on her face, knowing her sister has gotten away, the saviours drag Iris to the others, throwing her to the ground before lifting her to her knees, Iris watches the men drag Carl towards her, she looks over to him as he kneels down next her.

They look away from each other when they see Rick being pushed towards them, blood seeping from his side, "Hello again." Negan says, "Down. Or again." Rick kneels down on the other slide of Carl, "Well, shit, Rick. You just couldn't stick with us, huh? You had to go with these filthy garbage people? No offense." Negan says "Deal is for twelve, yes?" "ten, People are a resource." Negan says "twelve... ten" the woman says walking away from them, "Rick. This is just gonna make you sad. Broken. You're gonna wish you were dead." Negan explains walking behind them.

"I like having fun. I do. But maybe you think that the guy that did what he did to your friends wasn't me, like that was some sort of a put-on, like I'm not the guy with the bat -- I'm just the guy that makes your kid spaghetti." Negan says standing next to Iris, "Oh, shit. Maybe this is on me. Maybe this is all on me. I gotta make it right. I guess I gotta start all over again. I gotta tell you, Rick, if I had a kid, I'd want him to be just like your kid, which makes this so much harder." Negan explains.

"You're not gonna win." Carl snaps, "Carl. It is over. Why don't you point your one ball up the street there and take it all in?" Negan says, leaning down closer to Iris and the boy, Iris glares at the man, her jaw tensing as she watches him, a woman's scream echoes through the air, Iris looks over to the direction and realises it's from the house Michonne is in, "Ohh. Oh. Wow. You just lost somebody important to you right now -- like, just now. Jesus. That is timing." Negan says, getting in Rick's face.

"Well, Rick... you chose this. I truly don't know what more I could've done to warn you. And this isn't a warning. This is punishment. I'm gonna kill Carl now. I'm gonna make it one nice, hard swing, try to do it in one because I like him. I just want you to put that in your brain and roll it around for a minute. I'm gonna kill Carl, and then Lucille here, she's gonna take your hands. All while Iris here has to watch" Negan explains.

"You can do it right in front of me. You can take my hands. I told you already -- I'm gonna kill you. All of you. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow... but nothing is gonna change that – nothing. You're all already dead." Rick threatens, "Wow, Rick. Okay." Negan says, standing up and walking behind them again, "You said I could do it." Negan says, taking Carl's hat from him and raising his bat.

Iris quickly grabs onto Carl and pulls him into her body, just as the king's tiger lunges at one of the saviours, holding onto each other Carl and Iris watch as the people from the kingdom start shooting at the saviours. Rick crawls towards a gun on the floor but stops when a gun is pointed to his head, the saviour drops to the floor, Iris looks up to see Maggie and the hilltop people walking towards them, Maggie throws a rifle to Iris.

Rick and Iris nod to each other before, raising their guns and shooting, Iris stands and starts to move, shooting as many as she can, she turns and finds Juniper stood shooting at negans men, Juniper nods to her sister before moving off and shooting more people, Iris looks around as smoke fills the streets Negans black truck speeds past her, she starts shooting at the windows but fails, she throws her empty gun on the ground and starts running after the truck, other following her, shots starts hitting the floor around her and someone grabs her, moving her out of the way, she quickly looks back to see the king.

Everything goes silent and Iris looks around, she starts running down the road, scanning her surrounds, "juniper!" she shouts, trying to find her sister, "juniper!" Iris stops running, turning in every direction, "Juniper!" she shouts, Iris stops turning around, she lets out a defeated sob, her body shaking and she looks down at the ground.

Iris lets the sobs rip through her exhausted body, "Iris" the red head stands straight and quickly turns, Maggie stands a few feet away, Juniper stood next to her, Iris runs to her sister wrapping her arms around her, Juniper holds onto Iris "i'm okay, Maggie helped me" the blonde mumbles into Iris's shoulder.

Iris pulls away and turns to Maggie, suddenly iris wraps her arms around her, she's s surprised by the woman holding her tightly, "thank you" Iris whispers, maggie hugs Iris back, this is the first time Iris hasn't hidden away from her since everything happened, Iris pulls away and looks around again, Maggie and Juniper watch the red head look around searching for someone, when she stops.

Maggie watches as Dary starts to walk towards Iris, the two meet in the middle, wrapping their arms around each other, Daryl pulls away and looks behind him, iris follows his eyes "carol" Iris says hugging the woman, they pulls away and Iris moves back to her sister, looking around at the mess.
