Solitary: The Walking Dead

Chapter Ninety-one.

Last Day On Earth.

"Car!" Iris shouts as she enters the house, "what's wrong?" he asks running down the stairs, "your dads just left to look for Carol and Michonnes gone after Daryl" she says "where's Judith?" Iris asks, "she's just about to wake from her nap" Carl says, "okay. Have you got your gun?" she asks "yeah" "stay in the house. If something happens I need to know where you two are" Iris says, she pulls him into a hug and holds onto him tightly, "if shit goes bad i will get you two and get you out. I need you to promise me that you will go even if i can't go with you" Iris explains, she pulls away and looks at the boy "promise me that Carl" she adds "i promise" he says. Iris leaves and goes up to the watchtower, holding onto her rifle as she scans the area.

Iris watches Rick's car driving down the road, she lets out a whistle and Abraham opens the gate, "you find her?!" Iris asks, looking down at Rick as he gets out of the car, "no. Morgans still out looking for her" the man says "is Michonne here?" Rick asks the two "She's still out there, too." Abraham says, Iris climbs down as the new guard makes their way up, "You afraid... to go back to it?" Abraham asks Rick as she stands with them, "Let somebody close?" he asks "Yeah. Yeah." Rick says "Mm. Me, too. But now... I think I'm that much more ready to tear the world a brand-new asshole." he says, Iris and Rick chuckle at the man. "Any second now." Abraham says "Yeah. Any second."

Iris walks through the streets watching everyone, she stops when she hears screaming coming from Maggie's house, she runs up the steps and bursts into the house "what happened?" she questions Enid, dropping down to the floor and looking at Maggie, "i don't know. She just started screaming" the girl says, "hey, what is it?" she asks holding onto the side of Maggie's face, "the baby", Iris looks back at Enid "go get Rick now" she orders.

Enid runs out of the house and Iris turns her attention back to Maggie, "It's okay... your gonna be okay" she whispers, holding onto Maggie's hand and letting her squeeze it tightly, "i'm not gonna let anything happen to you or the baby" she says "what is it?" Rick asks, running into the house with Abrham and Carl "we need to take her to hilltop" Iris says.

After getting Maggie comfortable Iris runs into the house and pack some of the woman's stuff, she runs to the RV and puts it all in there for her, "Any change?" Sasha asks "She's getting worse." Rick says putting more stuff into the RV, "Good call on the transport." Abraham says "Well, I figured she'd be more comfortable." Rick says "It also means you got room for more. They're out there, so I'm gonna be there with you. We are." Abraham says looking at Sasha "Package deal." the woman says climbing into the RV, "uh what she said" Eugene says.

"We're ready to protect this place and the Saviours know it. That's why they grabbed Eugene." Aaron says "Look, it's not up for discussion." Rick snaps "Then you're just gonna have to punch me in the face and tie me up again. 'Cause that's what it's gonna take to stop me." Aaron says, Rick nods to the man and lets him in the RV, Iris following him and leaving Rick outside. "Let's go" Rick says and they start their drive to Hilltop, Iris takes her hat off and sits it on the table, she collects her hair and braids and pulls them into a tight ponytail.

Iris wraps her wrist up again, and makes sure she's ready if they come across the saviours, she stands up and makes her way into the room Maggie is laying in with Rick by her side, "hey, how you feelin'?" Iris asks, leaning against the doorframe, "shit" Maggie says, "we'll be there soon" Iris says leaving the two again and sitting next to Carl.

"What the bitch?" Abraham questions, Iris stands up and walks over to the front of the RV, "what?" Rick asks, walking over to them and standing next to Iris, she looks out the window and sees the road blocked off by a group of saviours, "we doin this?" Abraham asks "no" Rick says climbing out of the RV with Iris close behind him, the group walk in front of the RV "He's someone who was with a whole lot of someones who didn't listen." the leader syas about the man laying on the floor in front of them.

"We can make a deal right here, right now." Rick says "That's right, we can. Give us all your stuff. We'll probably have to kill one of you. That's just the way it is, but then we can start moving forward on business. All you have to do is listen." the leader explains, "Yeah... that deal's not gonna work for us. Fact is, I was about to ask for all of your stuff, only I'm thinking I don't have to kill any of you. Any more of you." Rick explains.

One of the men starts shaking a can of spray paint, he bends down and paints something on the chest of the man on the floor "Sorry, my deal is the only deal. We don't negotiate." the leader says, "Me and my people are leaving." Rick says and they start backing up to the RV, "Okay, friend. Plenty of ways to get to where you're going." the man says, and Iris climbs into the RV "You want to make today your last day on Earth?" Rick asks, stopping at the bottom step "No, but that is a good thing to bring up. Think about it. What if it's the last day on Earth for you? For someone you love? What if that's true? Maybe you should be extra nice to those people in that RV, 'cause you never know..." the leader says, he lifts his hand and snaps his fingers.

"Just like that. Be kind to each other. Like you said... like it was your last day on Earth." he adds "You do the same." Rick says stepping up into the RV. Iris walks to the back room and lifts Maggie's head, sitting down she lays the woman on her lap, "what was it?" Maggie asks, "nothin' you need to worry about" Iris says, stroking the woman's hair, "just get some sleep" Iris says.
