Solitary: The Walking Dead

Chapter Eighty-four.

We take them out.

"Describe it." Rick orders, Iris and a small group watch Andy as he starts drawing a map of the compound, "Rectangular building, big satellites on it." Andy says "Any windows?" Iris questions "I don't remember any. I think they made it so there's only one way in." Andy explains "Guards outside?" Rick asks "Yeah, two of them, at least." "And you don't know how many people they have?" Michonne asks "No... Uh, I mean, no. I saw a place where they stored food. It wasn't that big, so..." "You've been inside?" Rick asks "Yeah. They had us load in supplies one time." Andy says.

Glenn places another sheet of paper down in front of Andy "What do you remember?" he asks, "And you didn't see any other rooms?" Maggie asks "No, it's a big place. This is the hallway I saw. There is more." Andy says, "And every time, they had you bring things into here?" Michonne asks "Jesus. We brought a couple spears for them. Two of the Saviours took them down this hallway. Now, they must've done something with them because they didn't come back with them." Andy explains as he continues to draw.

"Maybe a weapons locker, an armoury." Jesus suggests, "Okay." "We get in there, secure the armoury, that's how we end it." Glenn says "That's how Carol ended it here." Maggie says "But we don't know if they have an armoury or where it even is." Andy says "Well, we've got a lot of good guesses. We've done more with less." Daryl says from next to Iris, "We go in at night while they're sleeping." Rick says.

"The guards won't be sleeping. Like I said, I think there's only one way in and there's no way to bust through that door without waking up the rest of them." Andy says, "We don't need to. They're going to open it for us, let us walk right in. They want Gregory's head, right? We're gonna give it to them." Rick says.

Iris ties her hair up in a tight ponytail, putting her cap back on her head, she pulls her bandana out of her backpack and ties it around her upper left arm, "you ready for this?" Rick asks, walking out of the house and standing behind her at the top of the stairs "yeah" she says standing up and looking at him, she walks into the house and puts her bag and coat of the sofa, she turns around and finds Carl stood with Judith, "be strong little shriff" she says to carl "be brave little deputy" she says to Juniper, she climbs into the bed of a truck, when they are all ready they start the drive to the compound.

The truck stops, everyone sounding their horns, Iris stands up and jumps out of the back of the truck, "Aaron, Rosita. You start here. We'll peel off every quarter mile, meet back here in a couple of hours. See what we got." Rick orders, and everyone splits for their separate jobs, Iris walks down the road with Daryl, Sasha and Abraham.

After checking the area they make their way back to the cars, Daryl climbs on top of the hood of a car, he holds his hand out and pulls Iris up next to him, "We're gonna take a look around, try to get a feel for how many people are in there. We like how it looks, we go in. A couple of hours before dawn. The guards outside'll be tired. Everyone inside'll be sleeping. We don't like what we see, we head back, make a new plan. They don't know who we are. We'll keep Jesus in the shadows. This is how we eat. This is how we eat. We roll out at midnight." Rick explains before going off to do his own thing.

The group stay low, sticking to the shadows and staying in the bushes, Andy drives the car up to the compound and Iris watches as a red lights turn on, she pulls out her knives as she hides behind the long grass, she watches Andy talk to the guards, he shows them the head and one of them goes inside, Daryl quickly comes up behind the remaining guard, slicing his throat and driving his knife into his head.

Iris stands and runs towards the building, the others following behind and more of them coming out from the same place Daryl did. They quickly move the guards body, Iris grabs his gun and they all make their way back into the shadows, leaving Andy in the same spot. Iris holds onto the gun, keeping low to the ground.

The guard comes back out of the building with the hostage, "Well, well, well. Look who it is." he says, Michone creeps behind him and drives her sword into the man's back, Daryl opens the building door, Glenn goes in first, Iris right behind him. They all move into the building, checking around each corner and making sure everything is covered, "Check the doors. Find the arsenal. We take them out." Rick whispers.

Iris carefully opens a door, scanning it with her gun and checking it's clear, she moves out of the room and moves further into the building, Rick stands at a door, Iris covers his back, Daryl crouches behind her with his gun pointed at the room, Rick slowly opens the door, carefully moving in he drives his knife into the head of a sleeping man.

Iris moves down the corridor, Daryl following behind her, she looks back at him nodding to see if he's ready, he nods and points his gun at the door, she slowly opens it finding two sleeping people, she pulls out her knife and they creep into the room, she drives her blade into the man's head, Daryl doing the same to the other man.

Suddenly a siren echoes through the compound, Iris and Rick stand at the bottom of the stairs, shooting the saviours as they try and make their way to them, "go!" Rick orders and they start running, Daryl and Michonne following them. As they run through the corridors they hide behind the wall as they get shot at, Iris pears around the corner and shoots one of the people in the head.

Daryl runs to the door at the end, a man opens the door and Daryl hits him with the end of his gun, Iris quickly runs up to him with Rick and Michonne, Iris splits from the other, making her way down another corridor, a woman stands in front of her, gun pointed at Iris's head, Iris watches the woman's hands shake, but carries on with her job, she lifts her gun and shoots the woman.

Walking further and stepping over the woman's body, she shoots two men as they run through the corridor, Iris takes their guns, sitting the straps over her shoulder and letting them sit on her back. She turns back at the dead end and starts making her way back to Rick, Daryl and Michonne.

The group meet up and find a shutter door, Rick lifts it open and they all make their way outside, scanning the surrounding areas with their guns high. Iris walks over to Tara, "be safe" she says, pulling Tara into a hug, "i will. Don't want you worrying about me again" Tara jokes, pulling away from the red head and getting into the RV. Iris turns at the sound of a bike revving, a saviour drives out of the compound, Iris looks at the bike and recognises it from the night she had dinner with Eric, Aaron and Daryl.

Rosita shoots at him, knocking him off the bike, Iris runs over to him as Daryl tackles him onto the floor, punching him, Iris stands next to them looking down at the man on the floor, her gun pointed at him, "where'd you get the bike?!" Daryl questions "Just do it!" the man shouts at Iris, "Like you did everyone else, right?" he adds, "Lower your gun, prick." a woman's voice says from a walkie talkie "You, with the red hair" she adds, Iris looks over at Rick keeping her gun pointed at the man on the floor as Daryl stands and points a gun at him as well.

"All of you, lower your weapons right now." the woman says through the talkie, Rick picks up the walkie talkie and lifts it to his mouth "Come on out. Let's talk." he says, "We're not coming out, but we will talk. We've got a Carol and a Maggie. I'm thinking that's something you want to chat about."
