Chapter 151.

What Comes After.

"Aw, she just gave up the keys, huh? It's a shame. She got the blade, but you... You got the fire. My money was on you." Negan says, watching Maggie stand in front of his cell "So you remember me?" Maggie asks "'Course I do. It's why I thought you were gonna win." Negan says.

"Good. Get on your knees." Maggie orders, Negan slowly stands from the bed " You know, I remember you screamin' in that clearing. I remember how much I broke you breakin' open your husband's head like I did." he says "Glenn. His name was Glenn." Maggie says "So now what? You finally come for... revenge?" Negan asks.

"Justice." "Damn. Thought you'd do this a hell of a lot sooner. It take you this long to work up your nerve?" Negan asks "I was always gonna settle this, what you did to my husband. Get on your knees." she orders again.

"What I did to him? You mean how I cracked open his skull and popped out his goddamn eyeball? How I bashed his big, beautiful brains into the ground over and over while you and his little friends watched? Is that what you mean? Ah, I used to say that I didn't enjoy killin'. That was a lie. Your old man... Christ, I forgot his name again. But he was different. Killin' him the way I did, ooh, now, that was fun." Negan says.

Maggie unlocks the cell door, watching as Negan slowly drops to his knees "Get to it. Have your justice. kill me. It was worth it." Negan whispers "Lemme see you in the light." Maggie says "Come on. kill me." Negan says, "You not have it in you? Don't you punk out like Rick." "Come into the light." she repeats.

"kill me. This is what you came here for! You kill me!" he begs, "Move into the light." "kill me." Negan cries, Maggie pulls the cell door open and throws Negan out of the cell, watching him hit the wall "Please. Please. Please kill me." he begs, Maggie watches the light hit his teary and broken face.

"Why?" "You have to. Just do it." he cries "You tell me why! Tell me! Why should I?!"  "So I can be with my wife! So I can be with Lucille! So i can be with Juniper!" Negan screams, gasping for air as he cries "I should be dead. I have to be dead. And it's supposed to be you. It has to be you, because I can't do it. I can't do it. I've tried. I can't. I can't be like this. Please, please don't make me stay like this. It's... Settle it. Settle me. kill me. Please." he begs.

"Get back in your cell." Maggie demands "No. No. No. No. Why?" he cries "I came to kill Negan, and you're already worse than dead. That settles it." Maggie says, Negan slowly stands "It wasn't supposed to be like this. It wasn't supposed to be like this." he cries as he walks into his cell, Maggie locks the door behind him as he continues to cry.

Iris lifts her walkie from her belt, pressing down the button she holds it to her mouth "everyone leave camp" Iris says, closing her eyes in pain, "i repeat, leave camp" she says, she slowly stands, and looks around. Enid suddenly grabs onto her and holds her up as they start running.

Iris raise her gun with her free arm, looking up at the bridge, she starts shooting walkers as they stumble towards Rick, "What is he doing?!" Maggie questions, Iris throws her empty gun to the floor, Enid holds onto her, "He's hurt!" Michonne says "That herd that went right through Hilltop. He's trying to bring down the bridge." Daryl explains.

"No." Michonne says, pulling her sword out and running "We turn them around. Fight 'em back." Maggie says, going after Michonne, Iris pulls out her knife, turning to run "your hurt. You can't" Enid says, stopping Iris, "i need to" Iris says, she looks up at Rick looking down at her.

She watches him shake his head no, before moving to kill the walkers, "give me your gun" Iris says to the girl, Enid hands the weapon over, Iris winces in pain as she lifts her bleeding arm, shooting walkers as they get close to Rick, Daryl doing the same with his crossbow.

She watches Rick look at her, a small smile across his face as he lifts his gun, tears fill her eyes as she watches him look away from her, suddenly the bridge explodes into flames "no!" Iris screams, her shaky hands drop the gun as her body starts to collapse "no!" she screams, tears streaming down her face.

Enid holds onto the woman, trying to stop her from falling onto the ground, Iris drops to her knees, rocking back and forth as sobs rip through her body, Enid cries as she holds onto Iris.

Iris looks up to Daryl, watching him as he walks away, "i got you" Enid says, hugging Iris's body into hers, Iris lets out a pain filled scream, her hands gripping onto the dirt under her hands.
