Weiss stared impatiently at the holographic clock displayed on her desk as Jaune slides next to Weiss.

"So, Weiss, y'know, uh, I-I was thinking after this, maybe we could go grab a bite to eat?" Jaune turns to Professor Port for a second before turning back to Weiss. "And, uh um, I-I've got two tickets to that new Spruce Willis movie, if you wanna make the trip to Vale. I hear it's awesome." He pauses, noticing Weiss' lack of reaction before Jaune could continue Y/n pulls him away.

"Hey, bud, no. Not Weiss. Y/n whispered, grabbing Jaune and pushing him to Pyrrha. "Stick to where you're wanted, no offense."

"Huh, what do you mean?" Jaune looked down, his face a mix of confusion and disappointment. "I thought you were just trying to help."

Y/n sighed, holding Jaune's shoulders. "Jaune, not to sound like an ass but you're out of your league. You're a great dude, but you are so not getting Weiss, and you wouldn't be qualified if Pyrrha didn't like y- just go ask Pyrrha." Y/n corrected himself.

Jaune's shoulders slumped slightly, but he nodded, looking over at Pyrrha. "Alright, I guess... Thanks for the heads-up, Y/n."

"Jaune, I'm not saying this to make you feel bad or to discourage you, but you're trying to pick the wrong flower or whatever." Y/n continued bringing Jaune down to his height. "You're like a warm sunny day kind of guy, and Weiss is...well, Weiss is a cold frigid winter."

Jaune glanced at Weiss' now empty seat, then back at Y/n, taking in his words. "Okay, I get it," he said, trying to muster a weak smile. "Thanks for being honest."

"No problem, I'm late for something. Tell me how it goes," Y/n stated before Yang popped up behind him, dragging him by his tail. "Hey, stop, that hurts!"

"Later, Jaune." Yang waved, dragging Y/n as he flailed behind angrily.

"I thought that class would never end." Blake remarked, adjusting the wraps on her wrists.

"Alright, guys, today's the day! The investigation begins!" Ruby happily leaps off her mattress and onto the floor, arms raised excitedly, almost landing on Weiss.

"Hey, knock knock, you guys done?" Y/n asked, cracking the door and peeking through his hands. "If you knew it was gonna take 20 minutes, I could've gotten here later."

Ruby scrambled to pull herself together, knocking over a stack of books in the process. "Yeah, yeah, we're ready. Just needed to make sure everything was in order for the investigation."

"I'm glad to see we're taking this so seriously." Weiss muttered sarcastically.

"Hey, a plan is about as serious as we're gonna get." Yang shrugged nonchalantly.

"Right!" Ruby looked around at the others. "Everyone remember their roles?"

Weiss nodded, standing up from her bunk. "I'll head to the CCT and check the Schnee records for any other Dust robberies or inconsistencies. Seeing as I'm in the family, it shouldn't be a problem.

"The White Fang has regular faction meetings to hand out orders and recruit new members. If I can get in, I can hopefully find out what they're planning." Blake finished, crossing her arms.

"I have an old friend on the shady side of town that typically knows everything going on in Vale. Getting information out of him shouldn't be too hard..." Yang smirked leaning back in a chair.

"As much as I want to talk to Junior I don't really like the idea of Blake walking into enemy territory alone so I'm going with her." Y/n added.

"Y/n, you really don't have to-" Blake started to protest, but Y/n waved her off.
