"Stop, you have violated the law!" Two uniformed Atlesian soldiers stood at the foot of the alleyway an Atlesian Paladin behold them.
The Paladin behind the soldiers loomed over them like a hulking shadow, its large armored frame glowing with an intimidating light.
"Nope!" Y/n pivoted on his heel and dashed in the opposite direction but quickly skidding to a halt as he was met with similar resistance. "Two Paladins, don't you guys have better things to do? I mean, you only introduced them a while ago!"
"Are you seriously telling me that two Paladins are out here in the middle of the city, just for me?" Y/n said, trying to keep the edge of panic out of his voice.
One of the soldiers, a tall man with a cold, calculating look in his eyes, pointed at Y/n. "You're a fugitive. We're here to make sure you don't make it any further."
Y/n clenched his fists, glaring at the soldiers. He was still trying to make sense of everything that had happened the break-in, the chase, and everything that had led him here. It was as if his life had gone from one bad decision to another.
He didn't have time to think too much about it. With a burst of energy, he lunged forward, bouncing off the wall to dodge the fire from the Paladin's miniguns.
Y/n barely had time to breathe as the alleyway erupted in gunfire, the miniguns of the Paladins whirring to life. Bullets tore through the brick and metal around him, shattering windows and sending debris flying in all directions. He twisted midair, narrowly avoiding the onslaught, and landed in a roll behind a dumpster.
The four soldiers advanced slowly, maintaining a tight formation. "You're not getting away, fugitive," One the soldier with the cold eyes called out, his voice flat and detached. "Come quietly and maybe we'll consider a lenient sentence. Resistance will only make things worse for you."
Without warning the dumpster Y/n was hiding behind flew at the soldiers, pushing them back and knocking them as well as the Paladin. Before the the other Paladin could fire at him, Y/n smashed a hammer into it sending it flying out of the alleyway.
"Sorry Nora, but I'll be using this a bit." Y/n smirked landing onto a copy of Magnhild.
The hammer in Y/n's hands felt heavier than he expected, but it carried a comforting weight. He spun it once, feeling the momentum before slamming it against the ground. The force sent a shockwave through the alley, cracking the pavement and making the remaining Paladin stagger. The soldiers scrambled to regain their footing, but Y/n wasn't about to give them the chance.
He launched himself forward, gripping the hammer tightly. The second Paladin's guns roared to life, but Y/n was already moving, using the hammer's explosive capabilities to propel himself forward. He twisted midair and brought the weapon down with all his strength.
The impact sent the Paladin skidding backward, sparks flying as its armor dented under the force. Y/n landed, breathing heavily, gripping the hammer tightly as the machine steadied itself. The soldiers were recovering as well, weapons raised, their disciplined training kicking in despite the chaos.
"Okay, so maybe picking a fight with two Paladins wasn't my brightest idea," Y/n muttered under his breath, rolling his shoulders. He glanced at the hammer in his hands. "Nora makes this look easy."
The Paladin charged forward, its massive metal arms swinging. Y/n barely dodged in time, feeling the rush of air as the steel fist slammed into the ground, shattering concrete. He used the opening to leap onto its arm, running up its frame as its weapons tried to track him.
He fired a grenade from the hammer, simultaneously letting it go, causing it to fly from his hands and crushing the Paladin's head while the grenade flew to the other Paladin that started to regain its footing.
