Taraji POV
The warm white sand in between my toes, I look down as I shuffle them through the sand and wiggle them out. The sun has yet to come up but I just needed a space to clear my head. I woke up in Fantasia's arms but I still needed some space.
The color of the water starts changing. Looking out as far as my eyes can see, I see the sun. The yellow and orange hues kiss the edge of the water cascading on the surface of the sea.
Peaceful. I claim the moment and exhale as I graveled through the sand. Trying my best to evade the thoughts that have not stopped since yesterday, I lean my head on my knees and think.
Don't be so naive, people know what they are doing when they do it. She meant to keep you out of the loop. Maybe she really loves him, still. I knew we rushed into this too fast. Maybe we were better off friends. How could I be so stupid? So desperate to be loved. I am unlovable and that is how it will always be. My hands are covering my ears and the cool breeze is blowing against my back, I feel overwhelmed by the train of thoughts that won't stop.
Burying my nose and holding my legs close is the only thing keeping me from jumping into this ocean. Things have not been this bad in a while since losing Marcell, but I am starting to believe coming to this island was a mistake.
The warmth against my back startled me and I became stuck, unable to move and unable to speak. I pick up my head looking straight towards the sun. Fantasia's arms wrap around me and I release my breath, I know these hands and I know they won't physically harm me.
Good morning beautiful. Her soft lips kiss my shoulder once, I smile because her kisses always calm me.
Good morning to you too. Her hands travel down my silhouette and land on my waist. I stretch out my legs on the sand and lean back into Fantasia's chest.
How did you sleep? She asked me connecting her hands and hugging my body, I overlapped our hands. Falling asleep was easy, but staying asleep was a challenge. I may need a nap today. I smile timidly at the sun rising.
I need to watch the sunrise more often, I wouldn't mind waking up early to see this. My tone was somber and from the rise in Fantasia's chest, I know she's concerned.
I'm just thinking, that's what I've been out here doing. Just thinking. My head towards the sky, I close my eyes and follow the rise and fall of her chest. Studying its rhythm, syncing our breaths.
Do you want to talk about it? Her rhythm changes and mine remains the same. Not right now, maybe another time. I suggest.
Alright, I'll be here when you are ready.
When did you come out here? Have you been here a while? Her hands loosen around my waist and she opens up her hands inviting my palm to join hers. I nod my head to her second question. I've been out here a while, I don't really know what time I came out here or what time it is.
Well... I have a few excursions planned for today. We have a horseback riding tour on this beach in a few hours, before dinner we have a hot spring tour. That's all for today.
Feathery kisses trail from my shoulder and move up my neck to my ear. Usually, a move like that would have turned me on, but I'm just not there and it seems like she noticed.
