Chapter 30: It All Falls Down, Crumbling.
Taehyung couldn't believe it, he just couldn't believe it. The world around him was falling, and it looked like everything he had worked for was all for nothing. He was losing everything.
"Namjoon-ssi, how could you do this to me?" he asked as he looked at his brother.
"I'm sorry, but, the money and the financial gain this company will go through after all this, it's better this way,"
"You betrayed me, you, you're not my Hyung anymore,"
"Sorry, but in the end, business is business, and you're a farm boy,"
-------------------------------------------------------------
This all happened last night, about two weeks after Taehyung had met with his brothers and Jimin in his office, Jimin had told him that the Family Reunion Dinner was going to be happening in two weeks on the Saturday.
Taehyung nodded his head at that, as did Jin and Namjoon.
The Reunion Dinner was finally around the corner and they had things to do.
Taehyung was stressed.
Jimin was too, everything was boiling down to this and he could finally just get this dinner over and done with.
In fact, he wondered why he worried and bothered with it, since Taehyung was now his real boyfriend and he had no reason to even go.
But he supposed he had to for the sake of his family, so, nervous about it, it was.
The two would often end the night curled in a tight ball around each other as Jimin would run through what the reunion night would entail, what to expect, and the two talked over the plan that Taehyung had run by with Jin and Namjoon.
Taehyung was rightly worried. This was his grandparents' empire. What would happen if the plan failed?
"Tae?" Jimin had said softly one evening, bringing Taehyung out of revere as he shifted in the bed and looked at Jimin.
"Yes?" he said quietly back.
"You'll be OK, I promise, this will all work out,"
"I hope so."
And that was almost the same occurance each night until it was time for the Reunion Party.
Taehyung was holding Jimin's hand tightly as the two walked up the stairs and into Jimin's Aunt's home.
"Hey, you have me, OK, you will always have me," Jimin said as he gave Taehyung's hand a reassuring squeeze.
Taehyung returned the squeeze in kind as the two entered the main hall that would host all the people who were attending.
Taehyung looked around and saw Hoseok with the catering team. He was wearing the waiter's uniform. As was Jungkook.
Yoongi was nowhere in sight, and Taehyung surmised that the other couldn't be bothered with the invite to attend that he was given when Mrs. Choi found out that he was a producer.
Which, in Taehyung's opinion, was fair enough. Yoongi had enough of dealing with people who were doing what they did under false pretences, and he was tired of dealing with people who thought they were better than everyone else on top of dealing with people who would crucify a person for the bare minimum.
He had his music and his close friends and that was all that was most important to him.
Taehyung spotted Namjoon and Jin in the living room.
