Inniki yenna panlam?

( What should I do today?)

403 wondered to himself as he aimlessly wandered around the floor after returning from the cafeteria. His job, his work, you ask? The magic could take care of that; he had neither the time nor the interest in handling human activities. He had much bigger stuff to deal with, like matchmaking and thwarting rival cupids.

As he was meandering about, his eyes caught sight of someone approaching his way, balancing stacks and stacks of files in their hands. The precarious tower of paperwork wobbled dangerously with each step. 403 could see that the person couldn't see in front of them at all. He quickly sidestepped to avoid a collision, curious to see who it was.

To his surprise, the human pack mule turned out to be none other than Ananya. She was struggling under the weight of the documents, her face barely visible behind the paper mountain. 403 couldn't help but frown at the sight, admiring her determination even as he wondered what kind of work required so much paperwork in the digital age.

Yennanga ipdhi?

( What is all these?)

Ananya turned her head around and glared at him, already visibly pissed.

Vera yenna? Un bro vecha vela dhan!

( What else? Your bro's job for me, of course!)

403 gulped as she continued stomping to Avi's room, and he couldn't help but scratch his head.

Namba yenna panalum adhula manna ali poda ivan oruthan podhum

( No matter what I do, this one guy is enough to spoil it)

He heard a chortling sound and turned back to find none other than 601 passing by. He glared at her, feeling his irritation rise. In his mind, he told himself,

Inniki idhuku oru mudhivu katren

( I'm going to do something about this today)

As Ananya entered Avi's cabin, she found him sitting with his head in his hands, clearly overwhelmed by the mountain of files. When he saw her, he quickly stood up and made space on his table for her to put down all the files he had asked for. Ananya did so with a dramatic sigh, placing her hands on her waist.

Vera yedachum venuma?

( Do you need something else?)

She asked tiredly, having lugged all those files from another floor. Sure, it was her job, but sometimes it felt like she was training for a marathon. Avi nodded at the couch and said,

Konja nera utkaru solren

( Why dont you sit for a while, I'll let you know)

Now, he meant that in a very nice way. Seeing her exhausted, he genuinely felt bad for making her haul all those files and offered her a seat out of kindness. But what came next was unnecessary in his opinion

Na en cabin'la ye poi ukarndhukuven

( I can sit in my own cabin)

she retorted. Avi frowned as she twisted her lips at him and walked out of the cabin. He couldn't help but roll his eyes and shake his head, wondering what he did to deserve this daily dose of sass.

Avi couldn't quite figure out what made Ananya's mood swing like a carousel when she was around him. One moment, she'd be as pleasant as a sunny day, and the next, she'd be storming out of his office like she'd been caught in a hurricane. He had to admit, though, there was something oddly entertaining about pushing her buttons. It wasn't that he didn't enjoy her company; he found himself strangely amused by how her reactions kept him on his toes.
