>>>>---- 💘 ----<<<<Avi set his mobile down on the table beside him, sighing softly as he took in the room. It was the biggest in the house, as he'd been told, with an air conditioner that hummed quietly and an old, worn-out remote sitting on the bedside. The bed was large, vintage photographs covered the walls, and a creaky ceiling fan lazily spun above him. The room had its quirks, but it had its own charm too.
He wandered over to the window, and as he pushed it open, a cool breeze rushed in, brushing against his face. Avi smiled, closing his eyes for a moment. There was something about the freshness of the air, the peace it brought him, and he found himself wanting to savor it, to lose himself in it for a little while.
Ananya lay sprawled on her bed, her eyes lazily tracing the patterns on the ceiling. Her legs were crossed over one another, bouncing slightly as her mind wandered.
Kandipa avara pathi visarika dhan, oru drama potturukanum, naaliki kalailaye yepdhiyachum indha aal'ah kutitu kalapiranum. Illa, enga amma over ah kanavu kann-
( I'm very sure my mom's made him stay here to enquire about him. I have to somehow leave with him tomorrow, or else-)
She was talking to herself, like the mental patient she was. ( AN: she is me)
Ananya's eyes narrowed as she caught a glimpse of movement through the slight gap in her door. It was Avi, walking past, heading somewhere. Without thinking, she sat up swiftly, her curiosity instantly piqued.
Aiyoyo, ivan indha nerathula yenga poran?
( Oh god, where is he going at this hour?)
Ananya got up, tying her hair into a ponytail, and quietly tiptoed after Avi, following him as he made his way to the backyard. She spotted him sitting on the old swing, his gaze fixed on the sky. A soft sigh escaped him, and for the first time, a small smile tugged at his lips as he stared off, lost in thought.
Ananya paused, frowning slightly. This calm, almost vulnerable side of Avi was something she'd never seen before. For a moment, she considered turning back without interrupting his quiet moment until she heard him say,
Varadhuna varalam
( You can join if you want to)
Ananya paused, then turned around and shot a glare at Avi, who still sat there without turning to face her.
Thalaiku pinnadhi yedhavadhu camera vechirukingala?
( Do you have any cameras on the back of your head?)
Avi chuckled at her frustrated tone, he shook his head and teasingly answered,
Idhu varaikum illa, idhuku mela vechikanumnu nenaikiren
( Not for now, but I might have to arrange for one)
Ananya frowned and, with quick strides, moved to stand directly in front of him, blocking his view of the sky.
Yen?
( Why?)
Nee yeppa paaru enna pinnadi'lerndhu pathutu irundha? Na gavanama irukae venam?
( You're always gawking at me from behind, I have to be careful, don't I?)
Ananya glared at Avi, hands firmly on her hips, but he simply responded her by shifting to one corner of the wooden swing, ignoring her irritation. Twisting her lips in frustration, she huffed and took the other side of the swing, silently accepting the standoff.
