( Could you send it now madam?)
Ananya glared at her mobile, fully aware that Avi was probably relishing in her frustration from the other end of the line. She inhaled sharply, momentarily closing her eyes to gather her composure. With a forced smile, she answered with a gritted politeness that barely concealed her irritation,
Ippo mail pannidren sir
( I'll mail it immediately sir)
Seringa madam
( Alright madam)
Once he hung up, she felt the urge to squeeze her phone into pieces, imagining it was Avi himself, but she stopped herself just in time. With a frustrated huff, she placed her mobile beside her on the table with a thud and got back to work. They had been collaborating at the factory and office for the past few days, evaluating everything that was happening, and not once had Avi missed a chance to tease her. Not even for a minute, in the most serious of moments, had he refrained from calling her "Madam," turning her professional demeanor into a battlefield of playful banter.
He found it amusing how Ananya managed to hide the frustration that bubbled up every time he mocked her. It was entertaining to watch her flustered reactions, and he secretly reveled in the playful dynamic they had developed. After sending him the email, Ananya received a thumbs-up from Avi, and with a sigh, she closed her laptop and made her way to the living room.
Plopping down on the couch beside Radha, who was engrossed in her favorite serial, Ananya reached for a piece of apple that Radha was cutting. Without a second thought, she stuffed the slice into her mouth, savoring the sweet and tangy flavor while half-listening to the melodrama unfolding on the screen.
Radha looked at her daughter and asked,
Vela mudhincha?
( Is your work finished?)
Ananya nodded her head,
Seri andha paiyan per yenna?
( By the way, what's that boy's name?)
Yendha paiyan?
( Which boy?)
Adhan un kudha vela pakurane, andha paiyan dhan
( The one that works with you)
Avan onnu en kudha work panla, na dhan avan kitta work panren
( I'm not working with him, I work for him)
Paatha apdhi therilayame?
( Apparently that's not how it seems)
Ananya slowly turned toward her mother, wearing a passive expression that could rival a stone wall. As she spotted Selvam arriving early to pick her up, watching her from a distance, she couldn't help but sigh at the predictability of this situation.
Avinash
Nalla paiyana?
( Is he good?)
Theriyadhu
( I don't know)
Anu..
