Song: Titli
Movie: Chennai Express
>>>>---- 💘 ----<<<<
Kondhal Vannanai Kovalanaai
(Oh, the dark-hued one, like Krishna of yore)
Vennai Unda Va Yennin Ullam Kavarthanae
(The one who stole my heart with butter in your hands)
Kondhal Vannanai Kovalanaai
(Oh, the dark-hued one, like Krishna of yore)
Vennai Unda Va Yennin Ullam Kavarthanae
(The one who stole my heart with butter in your hands)
Anda Kula Ne Arandha Nin Amudinai
(He is my nectar, my life)
Anda Kula Ne Arandha Nin Amudinai
(He is my nectar, my life)
Kanda Kangal Mai Thonrinai Kaanathey
(My eyes have seen my Lord and will not see anything else)
>>>>---- 💘 ----<<<<
Ban ke titli dil udaa udaa udaa hai kaheen door
(Like a butterfly, my heart soars and drifts far away)
Chal ke khushboo se judaa judaa judaa hai kahin door
(Like fragrance that walks apart, wandering far away)
Ananya followed Avi down the grand staircase of the divine abode, her fingers lightly brushing the polished railing. She couldn't help it-her gaze kept finding him, tracing the line of his jaw, the calm set of his shoulders, the way he moved with quiet assurance.
Haadse ye kaise, ansune se jaise
(What miracle is this, like something unheard before)
Choome andheron ko, koi noor..
(A light that dares to kiss the darkness)
He spoke casually, pointing out details of the halls, the carvings, the paintings, even the way the sunlight fell on certain sculptures. His words were simple, almost mundane, but in them, she heard a rhythm that made her chest ache.
Ban ke titli dil udaa udaa uda hai kahin door..
(Like a butterfly, my heart flies, drifting afar..)
She tried to stop herself from noticing him. She tried to keep her eyes steady, her mind unmoved. But it was useless. Every time she looked at him, her heart betrayed her. Her eyes softened without warning, and she had to swallow hard to steady herself. She was supposed to maintain distance. She was supposed to resist this pull. And yet, her pulse quickened whenever he so much as spoke a word to her.
Sirf keh jaaun yaa aasmaan pe likh doon
(Should I just speak, or write it upon the sky)
Teree taareefon mein chashme baddoor
(In endless praise of you, with no ill-wish in sight)
Avi smiled when he noticed her asleep beside him as he drove, finally free to admire her without her guarded eyes catching his gaze. She looked so unguarded, so achingly beautiful in that quiet slumber-but could he ever tell her that? No. He didn't have the words, nor the right.
Ban ke titli dil udaa udaa udaa hai kaheen door
(Like a butterfly, my heart soars and drifts far away)
Chal ke khushboo se judaa judaa judaa hai kahin door
(Like fragrance that walks apart, wandering far away)
It wasn't even the words. Avi's voice had this gentle, calm quality, almost like it could soothe a storm. He didn't need to say much; even the simplest sentences, the lightest inflection, had a way of settling into her chest, leaving her both restless and comforted at the same time. She hated how much it affected her, hated how easily he disarmed her with nothing more than softness.
