The morning light filtered softly through the curtains, settling on Ananya's face. Stirring awake with a sleepy yawn, she blinked groggily at the unfamiliar surroundings. Her heart skipped a beat as she sat up abruptly, momentarily disoriented, before it dawned on her that she was in Avi's room. A long sigh escaped her lips—a mix of relief and lingering unease.

Her eyes drifted from the oversized bed where she was in to the couch across, where Avi had spent the night. His blanket and pillow were neatly folded and placed to the side. Pulling her hair into a messy bun, she stood up, ready to get ready for work. That's when her gaze caught a small sticky note on the bedside table. Curiously, she picked it up and read Avi's sharp handwriting: "Press this button once you're awake and decent." Her eyes followed the arrow he had drawn, leading to a button on the wall.

Frowning in confusion, Ananya hesitated for a moment before pressing the button. At first, there was nothing but silence, leaving her to wonder if it was some kind of prank. Then, a soft knock echoed through the room, pulling her out of her thoughts. Still perplexed, she opened the door to find a maid standing there, holding a breakfast tray and wearing a polite, practiced smile. The maid informed her, with a tone of professional cheerfulness, that Avi had instructed them to assist her with unpacking. But what truly caught Ananya off guard was when the maid added

Sir, neenga inniku ungala work'ku poga vendam, rest pananumnu sonnaru

( Sir, has instructed for you to not go to work today, and to rest )

Ananya's eyebrows knitted together in confusion—what was all this about? Flustered and caught completely off guard, she shifted uncomfortably, unsure how to react. Her gaze fell to the tray the maid revealed, laden with an extravagant breakfast spread.

Sir eh ungalukaga choose panna menu

( Sir specially chose this menu for you )

Ananya let out a fake impressed chuckle, her eyes lingering on the tray with an air of disbelief. Pancakes drizzled with honey, a delicate bowl of blueberries, and even a miniature jar of syrup—what was this, a hotel buffet? Honestly, a simple dosa with chutney would have been enough for her. This extravagant spread felt so unnecessary it almost bordered on absurd.

Ulla kondhu varatuma?

( Should I bring it in )

Kandipa

( Sure )

Ananya swallowed hard, the word barely leaving her lips as she awkwardly moved the breakfast tray into the room. Just as she placed it down, she clapped her hands together, intending to signal nothing in particular. To her horror, the clap seemed to act as some sort of invisible cue—within moments, more and more servants began pouring into the room with an almost choreographed precision. The maid, unfazed, simply smiled and explained matter-of-factly, leaving Ananya completely dumbfounded.

Ma'am, ungaloda things yellam wardrobe'la arrange panna solli sir sonnaru, ungaluku yedachum preference irundha sollunga

( Ma'am, sir wanted us to arrange your things on the wardrobe, please let us know if you have any preferences about it )

Aiyayo, adhellam venam. Naane pathukuren

( Oh no no, you don't have to, I can do those on my own )

Illa ma'am, Sir strictly instructed us to do these

Aiyo paravala'nga, na kondhu vandhadhe oru oru luggage dhan, naane pathupen-
