I didn't see that guy who gave me his paddock pass anymore. I guess he couldn't get in anymore. Guess his friend didn't replace his paddock pass.

I almost felt bad.

It was nice to watch the qualifying, maybe even more nice to get as much as free drinks as I wanted.

Even better than the drinks, was the food.

So much food.

Even after the qualifying was done, I was still eating.

I was used to fancy food, because I ate at restaurants and roomservice from the hotel.
But this was different, this was all I could eat without having to pay for it.

Amazing.

"Did your dad never show up?" The same guy from before asked as he sat down next to me.

I wasn't dumb, I knew he was one of the drivers. You must be blind not to see that with all his pictures around the hospitality.

But sometimes it was better to play dumb. Play a innocent little girl.

"I think he left me" I fake pouted. "How tragic"

He chuckled, grabbed his fork and started poking around in his pasta.

I took a sip from my drink, leaned a bit back in my chair and looked at him.

He was quite handsome, had a mischievous look in his eyes but he looked quite disappointed with how he did during qualifying.

I didn't know much about F1. Didn't know if he was a good driver or if Mclaren was a decent team.
But he did quite alright this afternoon.

Or that's what I thought at least.

"What's your name?" He asked as he pointed his fork at me. "Xanthi"

"Greek?" He asked.

"Exactly" I nodded. "What about you?"

"Not Greek" he pointed his fork back at himself.

I rolled my eyes. "What's your name then?"

I already knew his name, but I obviously had to act as if I had no clue who he was.

Even though I was sitting in his hospitality.

"Lando"

"So you're part of the resistance?" I chuckled, which made him frown a little. "Star Wars" I explained.

"Never heard that one before" he said sarcastically. Yeah it clearly wasn't his day and I wasn't the type of person to cheer people up.

Not that I didn't want, I just couldn't. I had way too dark of a soul for that.

"Anyways I should go" I said as I finished my drink. "Already?" He raised his eyebrow.

"Quali is done right? Is there something else I should wait for?"

"Guess not" he shrugged his shoulders. "I will see you tomorrow then"

"I am not coming tomorrow" I said as I got up and grabbed my purse. "Oh" he mumbled.

Sometimes it was necessary to admit your defeats. There was no way that I could sneak in the paddock for a second time.

Which was okay, I enjoyed myself today and I had to meet up with my best friend Pippa tomorrow anyways.

"Do you need a ride?" He asked as he got up as well. I looked at him and back at his plate, which was still half full.

"No, my hotel is only a 10 minute walk" I said as I pointed at his plate. "And you should continue eating"

He shook his head laughing. "Good luck finding your dad"

"Thanks, but that's a lost cause already" I waved at him as I made my way out of the hospitality.

I had to admit that it was a pretty fun day. Maybe I should sneak into events like this more often.
