A few days later, Max and I were invited to Lando's place.

I don't know why, probably just to go to dinner together or something.

I still didn't confront Chase. Not because I didn't want to, but because he was never home, or he just didn't open the door for me.

He probably had a fancy doorbell with camera and he obviously was too much of a coward to open the door.

Max and I were standing in front of Lando's door.

Francesca opened the door, looked at me up and down and smiled, definitely seemed like a fake smile.

"Babes! I am so happy to see you" she said as she wrapped her arms around me. "We are so excited, we have to tell you something"

She took my hand, pulled me with her inside and Max followed us with a frown on his face.

She took me to the kitchen were Lando was standing. He greeted Max and smiled at me.

"We are getting married next week" Francesca clapped her hands enthusiastically.

"What?" I frowned. "Next week? I thought you were getting married in a month?"

Which was still way too soon but this was just ridiculous.

"Yeah, but we just can't wait" she said as she wrapped her arms around Lando's waist, nuzzled her face in his chest. "I wanna be Mrs. Norris"

Lando looked down at her with a smile. "That sounds pretty good"

And while they were kissing, Max and I were looking at each other. Did we had enough to confront her? To make Lando believe us?

Probably not. Savannah's word meant nothing in his eyes.

"Anyways, we are going to fire the barbecue up" Lando said as he walked to Max and patted his back.

Max nodded and walked after him. Leaving me alone with Francesca.

"So.." she mumbled, tilted her head at me and smirked a little.

"What?"

"I need you to stay away from Chase" she said as she leaned against the kitchen counter. "He's dangerous, okay?"

How did she know I went to see Chase? Or tried to see him?

"I am dangerous too" I mumbled.

She chuckled, grabbed a knife and started cutting some vegetables. "Maybe I didn't make myself very clear"

She grabbed a carrot and cut them in two with one quick movement. Did she think I would be impressed with that?

"I need you to mind your own business, Xanthi" she said as she turned her head to me.

"Is that a threat, Francesca?" I asked, leaning closer to her.

She shrugged, put the knife in the cutting board and turned to me. "You out of all people should know what it is like to live with zero money"

I raised my eyebrow.

"Your parents died, lived in foster homes, got assaulted by your foster dad for years" she tilted her head. "He even got you pregnant, right?"

My eye twitched a little.

"And you were only 16" she shook her head. "So sad"

I knew exactly what Savannah was talking about right now, she could push your buttons. There was nothing I wanted more than to grab this knife and put it in her throat.

"But then, he disappeared" she said as she made shocked face. "Weird, right?"

"Very" I muttered.

"I wonder if the police knows all of that" she said as she grabbed the knife and pointed at me. "So I am gonna warn you again, mind your own fucking business"

"So the barbecue is lit" Lando and Max walked back in the kitchen.

"Perfect" Francesca said cheerfully. "We were just discussing what Xanthi could wear as my bridesmaid"

Max looked at me with a frown. He probably couldn't believe I would ever say yes to being her bridesmaid.

He knew I wouldn't. She was fucking insane.

But she was good, very good at deceiving people. I had to admit that she almost got me.

But unfortunately for her, I was better.
