I spend the entire weekend with Lando, we definitely grew much closer together.
He did amazing, I was so proud and it was amazing to see him do so well.
We all flew back to Monaco, I decided to move out of the hotel and move in with Jamie instead.
And he did what I asked too, invited Jess to dinner tonight at his place.
Jess was cool, very outgoing and she looked absolutely in love with Jamie.
So did he, but he liked her for a long time now.
"I heard you're friends with Lando?" She smiled as she looked at me. "Yes we are, we met in the paddock"
"You work there then?"
"No, I just went there to watch quali" I explained. "He caught me using someone else's paddock pass"
She looked at Jamie with a frown, probably asking if I was serious about this.
"Yeah she's like that" Jamie laughed.
"So, I will clean this up, you girls can relax a little" Jamie said as he stood up.
He was giving me a chance to talk to Jess in private.
That's why he was my best friend.
"Let's go to the balcony?" I asked. Jess nodded, kissed Jamie and followed me outside.
"You guys are cute together" I smiled. "Thanks, he's the sweetest" she replied.
She leaned against the railing and looked at me. "So, what do you wanna ask me?"
I smiled, she was a smart one, and straightforward. I liked that.
"Did Francesca cheat on Lando?" I asked.
She looked at me, didn't reply immediately. She just shrugged.
"Did she cheat on him with Chase?"
She sighed, looked down, which probably said enough. "She cheated on Jordan with Chase yeah"
"And on Lando?"
She shrugged again. "I don't know"
"Did she tell you Jordan abused her?"
"No, but I saw the bruises" she said as she turned her face to me. "Okay, but do you believe it was Jordan who did that to her?"
She looked away again, rolled her eyes a little.
Jamie walked on the balcony, stood next to her and put his hand on her back.
"I don't believe it was Jordan, no"
And there it was. Her best friend also thought she was lying.
But why? Why did she try to blame Jordan? Just to get back with Lando?
Why would she do that? She probably cheated on Lando so why would she want to be with him?
"I think she liked working at the club, but she wanted more, like everyone here in Monaco and Lando could give her that" Jess explained as if she could read my mind.
"So she used Lando?"
She shrugged. "At some point yeah, maybe even the entire time, I don't know"
I nodded, put my hands on the railing and looked ahead of me.
Lando definitely deserved better.
"Look Xanthi, she's gone now and maybe for the better, so there is no need to tell Lando"
I snorted. "He was a mess for months, he probably lost so many hours of sleep because he wondered why she left, he missed her and now you're telling me that I can't tell him that she used him?"
"Exactly, because it will mess him up again" she snapped a little. "And we don't know for sure if that was her intention"
I chuckled even more now. Unbelievable.
Jamie looked at me, told me to calm down with his eyes.
We never needed words to tell each other what we were feeling.
So I didn't reply.
she sighed. "She's been gone for eight months now and she never told me why she left either"
"Jordan caught her fucking Chase in the backroom of the club, while she was dating Lando" I said as I looked at her. "That's why she left"
Jess snapped her head back at me, frowned a little.
"And Jordan got beaten up a few days before she left" Jess mumbled.
We both looked at each other. We were both thinking the same thing.
Chase did that. Jordan probably wanted to tell Lando about what he saw and Chase lost his temper.
He lost his temper because he was aggressive like that - so he was probably the one who abused Francesca.
Chase told Francesca that Jordan wanted to come clean to Lando and that's when she got scared and left.
Jess shook her head. "Why would she lie about all of it?"
I didn't have an answer to that, but she was right. I wasn't gonna tell Lando.
She was gone and he was happy again but I swear, if she ever decides to come back and tries to fuck with him again..
She was gonna be in for a surprise.
