Drums played, rhythmically in the street as a large carriage followed. General Lamarque's funeral was today and everyone had gathered in the streets to remember their beloved hero.
Christine stood just behind Eniolras and Marius and beside another, small boy.
Suddenly, the soft voice of Enjolras broke out as he sang.

Is there a world you long to see?Suddenly, Enjolras and Marius ran into the street with a red flag, followed by the Les Amis. Grantaire pulled Christine with him and they stood behind their friends.
Then join in the fight
That will give you the right to be freeThe Les Amis, including Christine, climbed up onto the funeral carriage of Lamarque where they stood their ground. There wasn't much room where Christine stood, so Enjolras held a hand out to help her up, still not knowing it was his lover.
She held her head down and nodded as thanks as she hoisted herself up with the help of Enjolras.

Some officers on Cavalry came in and one yelled, "Halt!"
As he did so, both Enjolras and Marius revealed their pistol guns. Christine stepped behind Enjolras, but to the point she could get in front of him is she needed to.
"Draw!" The officer yelled and they all pulled out their swords.
A sudden shot was fired from an unknown place, making and the others jump, a scream was sounded immediately after the girl had gone into protection mode. As soon as she heard the fire, she had placed an arm in front of Enjolras, but quickly removed it when she realised it wasn't him who was shot.
