Paris, 1832

A man in the army's uniform arrives at the barricade, "Don't shoot! Don't shoot! I come here as a volunteer!" He begs and they open the barricade.

They allow him in but as he enters, a collection of guns point to his head.

"You see that prisoner over there?" Joly asks him, "A volunteer like you. A spy who calls himself Javert!"

"He's going to get it too!" Grantaire tells the man.

They start ushering the man into the tavern with Javert until Gavroche calls to stop.

"Don't kill him! I know him!" The little boy shouts.

"Enemy marksman!" The man shouts, pushing the boys away and grabbing a gun, shooting the men on the roof.

Enjolras' heart drops when he saw the man's gun at Christine.

They shoot all of the enemies which surround them on the roofs.

Enjolras grabs Christine by the waist and hold her tight, "Thank you, monsieur." He nods to the man.

"Give me no thanks, monsieur. There's something you can do." The man says to Enjolras.

"If it is in my power." Enjolras nods to the man, encouraging to keep going.

"Give me the spy Javert! Let me take care of him." The man requests and Gavroche holds up a gun for him to take.

"Do what you have to do, the man belongs to you." Enjolras grabbed Christine by the waist and left the man to take care of the traitor.

The two lovers found a quiet place to rest, Enjolras sat on the floor beside the chair that Christine sat on.

They talked quietly for a while until a gun shot was fired. Everyone went on with what they were doing.

Christine sat quietly, reviewing the events of that night.

Christine:
Some people long for a life that is simple and planned
Tied with a ribbon
Some people won't sail the see cause they're safer on land
To follow what's written
But I'd follow you to the great unknown
Off to a world we call our own.

Enjolras looked at her, lovingly and placed a hand in hers.

Hand in my hand
And we promised to never let go
We're walking a tightrope
High in the sky
We can see the whole world down below
We're walking a tightrope

Never sure, never know how far we could fall
But it's all an adventure that comes with a breathtaking view
Walking a tightrope with you, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh

With you, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
With you

Enjolras stood, taking Christine and stepping into a waltz. The Les Amis watched as they danced.

Mountains and valleys,
And all that will come in between
Desert and ocean
You pull me in and together we're lost in a dream
Always in motion
So I risk it all just to be with you
And I risk it all for this life we choose

Hand in my hand
And we promised to never let go
We're walking a tightrope
High in the sky
We can see the whole world down below
We're walking a tightrope

Never sure, will you catch me if I should fall?

Christine jumps off a piece of furniture and into the arms of Enjolras as he lowers her softly to the ground.

Well it's all an adventure
That comes with a breathtaking view
Walking a tightrope with you, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh

Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh,
With you
With you-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh

With you
With you

He softly kissed Christine and sheltered her once again, in his arms.

"Courfeyrac, you take the watch, they will attack before it's light." Enjolras says to his friends, "Everybody keep the faith. For certain our banner flies, we are not alone. The people too must rise."

Christine places a hand on Marius' shoulder and says, "Marius, rest."

Grantaire:
Drink with me, to days gone by

Les Amis (Christine + Gavroche):
To the life (to the life)
That used (that used)
To be (to be)

At the shrine of friendship never say die
Let the wine of friendship never run dry

Here's to you (here's to you)
And here's to me!

Enjolras buries his head in Christine's shoulder as she holds him.

The pair of them find someone to lay down. They hold each other like it's their last night, as they sleep.
