The sun was barely up, and the dorm of Zerobaseone was still quiet, save for the faint sound of birds chirping outside. In the dimly lit kitchen, Hanbin, the group's dedicated leader, stood by the counter, sipping a cup of warm tea. He winced slightly, pressing his fingers to his temple as a dull pain throbbed behind his eyes. He'd had a mild headache the night before, but now it seemed to be growing into a full-blown migraine.Hanbin sighed and shook his head. He didn't want to worry the members; they had all been working hard and needed their rest. Today was supposed to be a light day, with just some planning and rehearsals. He thought he could push through the pain. After all, as the leader, he felt responsible for setting an example.
As he stared blankly at his tea, his thoughts were interrupted by the sound of footsteps. Ricky, one of the younger members, shuffled into the kitchen, his hair sticking up in all directions. "Morning, Hanbin-hyung. You're up early." Ricky greeted, rubbing his eyes. "Morning, Ricky. I just couldn't sleep much." Hanbin replied, forcing a smile. Ricky yawned and stretched. "You okay? You look a bit pale."
"I'm fine. I'm just a little tired." Hanbin lied, taking another sip of tea.Ricky didn't seem convinced, but he didn't press further. Instead, he began rummaging through the fridge, looking for something to eat. As he did, more of the members began to wake up and trickle into the kitchen. It wasn't long before the space was filled with the chatter and laughter of young men enjoying their breakfast together.
The group assembled in their practice room, ready to start the day with some light stretching and vocal warm-ups. As they began, Hanbin found it increasingly difficult to focus. The lights seemed too bright, and the sounds too loud. The pain in his head intensified with every move he made, and it became harder to ignore.
Taerae noticed Hanbin's discomfort as they practiced their choreography. "Hyung, are you sure you're okay?" Hanbin forced a smile. "Yeah, just a little headache. I'll be fine." Jiwoong frowned as he watched Hanbin struggle. "Hanbin, you don't look well. Maybe you should sit this one out."
Hanbin shook his head stubbornly. "No, really, I'm fine. Let's keep going."The members exchanged worried glances but continued with their practice, albeit with less enthusiasm. It was clear that their leader wasn't in top form, and it was affecting everyone's mood. As the morning went on, Hanbin's condition worsened. The migraine had grown more intense, making it difficult for him to see straight. He felt nauseous and disoriented.
Despite his best efforts to hide it, the members noticed him clutching his head and squinting against the light.
Finally, during a break, Zhang Hao approached Hanbin with a concerned expression. "Hanbin, you really don't look good. You need to rest."Hanbin opened his mouth to protest but was interrupted by a sudden, sharp pain that made him gasp. He staggered, nearly losing his balance. The room seemed to spin around him, and he felt a wave of dizziness wash over him.
"HANBIN!!! GUYS, HANBIN'S NOT OKAY!!!" Zhang Hao exclaimed, holding him. The other members quickly gathered around, their expressions a mix of concern and panic. Yujin looked particularly worried. "Hyung, what's wrong?" Hanbin tried to speak, but the pain was overwhelming. His vision blurred, and he felt weak. He managed to whisper, "Migraine... it's really bad..." Jiwoong gently placed a hand on Hanbin's shoulder. "Let's get you to your room. You need to lie down."
With that the members left the practice room and made their way towards the dorm. A few minutes later, members reached the dorm.
With Gyuvin and Ricky, the tallest duo of the group support, Hanbin was carefully led back to his room. The members quickly sprang into action, gathering everything they thought might help him feel better. Ricky fetched a cool compress, while Yujin dimmed the lights and closed the curtains to keep the room dark. Jiwoong filled a glass with water and placed it on the bedside table.
As Hanbin lay down on his bed, he felt a sense of relief wash over him, though the pain was still present. Zhang Hao sat beside him, placing the cool compress gently on his forehead.
"Try to rest, Hanbin. We're here for you." Zhang hao said softly.
Hanbin closed his eyes, grateful for the coolness against his skin. "I'm sorry, guys... I didn't want to worry you.""Don't apologize, hyung. You always take care of us. Now it's our turn to take care of you." Yujin insisted.
Gunwook nodded, his eyes filled with concern. "We're a team, hyung. We look out for each other." Gyuvin smiled reassuringly. "Just relax. We've got everything under control."As the members settled in around Hanbin, they chatted quietly, trying to keep the atmosphere light and comforting. Hanbin felt a sense of warmth and safety, surrounded by his members. They were more than just a group; they were his family.
Throughout the afternoon, the members took turns staying with Hanbin. They brought him snacks, water, and medication, ensuring he was as comfortable as possible. Yujin, who had a knack for finding soothing music, played a gentle playlist on his phone, hoping the soft melodies would help ease Hanbin's discomfort.
At one point, Hanbin stirred and opened his eyes. He saw Zhang Hao sitting by his side, flipping through a magazine but occasionally glancing over to check on him. "Hyung...Thank you." Hanbin's voice was barely a whisper. Zhang hao looked up and smiled. "For what?"
"For taking care of me. I should have told you guys I wasn't feeling well. I just didn't want to be a burden." Hanbin replied, his eyes getting teary. Zhang hao reached out and squeezed Hanbin's hand. "You were never a burden, Hanbin. We're a team, and we all care about you. You don't have to handle everything by yourself. You have us. You can share your problems with us." The other members, who had been listening from the doorway, nodded in agreement. Ricky chimed in, "Yeah, hyung. You always tell us to take care of ourselves, but you need to do the same." Hanbin smiled weakly, touched by their words. He realized how lucky he was to have such supportive and caring members. They weren't just members, they were brothers.
As the day turned into evening, Hanbin began to feel a bit better. The migraine was still there, but it had dulled to a more manageable level. The members continued to keep the atmosphere light, sharing funny stories and jokes to lift his spirits.
Matthew entered the room with a bowl of soup, carefully balancing it in his hands. "Made you some soup, hyung. Thought it might help." Hanbin sat up slowly, grateful for the gesture. "Thanks, matthew."
As he ate, the members took turns sitting with him, making sure he was comfortable and not in pain. They chatted about their favorite TV shows, upcoming schedules, and even discussed some new song ideas. Despite the circumstances, it felt like a normal, relaxed evening.
As the night grew later, Zhang Hao insisted that the other members get some rest too. "You all need sleep. I'll stay with Hanbin tonight." The members reluctantly agreed, knowing that they'd need their energy for the days ahead. They bid goodnight to Hanbin, each offering their own words of encouragement and care."Get well soon, hyung." Ricky said, giving Hanbin a light pat on the shoulder."Yeah, we need our leader back in top form," Yujin added with a grin. Hanbin chuckled softly. "Thanks, guys. I really appreciate all of you."
Once the other members had gone to bed, Zhang Hao settled into a chair beside Hanbin's bed. The room was quiet, with only the soft hum of the air conditioner and the occasional rustle of the curtains.Hanbin glanced at his hyung, feeling a mixture of gratitude and guilt."Hao Hyung, you don't have to stay up. I'll be okay."Hao shook his head. "I want to. Besides, it's not like I could sleep knowing you're not feeling well." Hanbin sighed, feeling the weight of the day's events. "I'm sorry for causing so much trouble."
"You didn't cause any trouble. Just because you are the leader doesn't mean that you handle everything alone. We're a family remember?" Hao said firmly. Hanbin nodded, the words comforting him. He felt a warmth in his chest, knowing that Hao and the others genuinely cared about him. "Yeah, we are."
For a while, they sat in a companionable silence. Hao occasionally checked on Hanbin, making sure he was comfortable and had everything he needed. Hanbin felt himself growing drowsy, the exhaustion of the day catching up with him.
"Rest, Hanbin. We'll be here for you no matter what." Hao whispered. "
As Hanbin drifted off to sleep, hao also went towards his room. He took a last glance at hanbin before closing the door.
