The dorm was quiet. Zerobaseone had returned late from practice, exhausted but satisfied after a productive session. They had opted for dinner outside, filling their stomachs before heading home. One by one, the members had disappeared into their respective rooms, showering and crawling into bed, eager for rest.
All except for Hanbin. Lying in his bed, he shifted uncomfortably, a frown creasing his forehead. His stomach churned unpleasantly, a growing nausea making his skin feel clammy. He let out a shaky breath, rubbing his palm over his abdomen in hopes of easing the discomfort. But it didn’t help.

Minutes passed, then another wave of nausea surged, stronger this time. Hanbin shot up, heart pounding, before scrambling out of bed. His bare feet barely made a sound against the wooden floor as he rushed toward the bathroom.
The door barely clicked shut before he collapsed in front of the toilet bowl. A choked gag ripped through his throat, followed by violent retching. His body trembled as he emptied his stomach, fingers gripping the porcelain tightly.

Hao, light sleeper in the grip when the faint sounds reached him. A muffled, heaving noise from the room beside his.

His brows knitted together. Something felt off.

Groggily, he pushed himself up, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. The dorm was silent otherwise, the stillness amplifying the unsettling noise. Hanbin’s room.
Swinging his legs over the bed, Hao stood up and padded toward the door, hesitating for a second before knocking.

“Hanbin?” His voice was low, laced with concern. No answer. A bad feeling settled in his stomach as he turned the knob and stepped inside. The room was empty. But then his gaze landed on the bathroom, its light spilling faintly under the door.

Hao’s chest tightened.

He didn’t hesitate this time. He pushed the door open—only to be met with the sight of Hanbin slumped over the toilet, his body wracked with tremors.

“Hanbin!” Hao was at his side in an instant, crouching next to him. His hands found Hanbin’s shoulders, steadying him as he let out another weak gag, though nothing came up.

“Hey, hey… what’s wrong?” Hao’s voice was gentle, but his worry was evident. He pressed a hand to Hanbin’s forehead, frowning when he felt the warmth radiating off his skin.“Hyung…” Hanbin’s voice was barely above a whisper, weak and strained. His eyelashes fluttered, his body limp. That was enough for Hao to spring into action.“I’ll be right back, okay? Stay here.” He reassured quickly, but Hanbin barely reacted. That only made Hao move faster.

Jiwoong jolted awake when he felt a hand shaking his shoulder. He groggily turned over, blinking blearily at the figure hovering beside his bed.“Hao?” he mumbled, voice rough with sleep.“Hyung, it’s Hanbin. He’s sick.” Hao’s urgent tone cut through the last remnants of sleep clouding Jiwoong’s mind. Jiwoong immediately sat up. “What happened?”

“I don’t know, but he was throwing up, and he feels hot. He’s in the bathroom right now.” Jiwoong didn’t need to hear more. He swung his legs off the bed, already moving. When they reached Hanbin’s room again, the sight that greeted them made Jiwoong’s stomach drop.Hanbin was no longer conscious.
His body lay limp on the bathroom floor, his breaths shallow.

“Hanbin! Hey, wake up.” Jiwoong knelt beside him, shaking him slightly. No response. His heart pounded.“We need to call the manager hyung.” Hao said quickly, his voice shaking. Jiwoong didn’t waste another second. He pulled out his phone, dialing their manager with slightly unsteady hands.
The line rang only once before it was picked up.“Jiwoong? It’s late—”
