Fandoms were screaming their lungs out, cheering for their respective groups as the host was gonna announce winner of " MMA 2023 New Artist Of The Year".
"MMA 2023, New Artist Of The Year goes to....." The host says, stops for a moment.
"Congratulation, ZEROBASEONE!!!!" The host announced. Zeroses started cheering for them.
Zerobaseone stood up, bowed to all artist present and went towards stage to receive the award. Some of them were still in shock but calmed down later. The members, dressed in denim blue suits, stood in a line with beaming smiles. Hanbin, the leader, took the microphone to deliver their acceptance speech.
"Thank you so much to all our fans, our families, and everyone who supported us. This award means the world to us, and we will continue to work hard to make you proud." Hanbin began, his voice filled with emotions.
The other members nodded, their faces lit up with joy. Ricky stood next to Hanbin, clapping along with the audience. As he scanned the crowd, his eyes landed on a man who seemed out of place. The man, appearing to be in his mid-40s, had a stern expression and was pointing something at the stage. Ricky squinted, trying to make sense of it, and his heart skipped a beat when he realized it was a gun aimed directly at Hanbin.
Ricky's mind raced. He needed to act fast but also not alarm the others or the audience. He subtly moved closer to Hanbin, placing a protective hand on his shoulder as they finished their speech and started heading back to their seats.
"Great job, everyone. Let's celebrate tonight!" Hanbin said, beaming as they walked off the stage.
Ricky forced a smile, but his attention was solely on the man in the crowd. They were almost back at their seats when Ricky felt a sharp pain in his back. It was sudden, intense, and crippling. His legs buckled, and he gasped, struggling to understand what had just happened.
"RICKY HYUNG!" Gunwook screamed, his voice piercing through the noise of the crowd. The other members turned around in shock as Ricky collapsed to the floor.
Gyuvin immediately rushed to Ricky's side, cradling his head in his lap. Blood was gushing out from Ricky's back, staining the floor. Gyuvin's eyes filled with tears as he held his friend.
"Ricky, stay with me! Don't close your eyes, please!" Gyuvin begged, his voice breaking. But Ricky's body was unresponsive. His eyes fluttered shut despite Gyuvin's desperate pleas.
Panic spread through the hall. Other idols and attendees were in shock, frozen in their seats. The staff quickly called for an ambulance, and within minutes, it arrived. The members carefully lifted Ricky and rushed him to the ambulance, Gyuvin and Hao accompanying him while the others followed in a car.
The drive to the hospital felt interminable, worsened by the heavy traffic. Every minute that passed felt like a lifetime. Finally they arrived and Ricky was whisked away to the operation theater.
Gyuvin and Hao sat in the waiting area, the weight of the situation bearing down on them. Gyuvin couldn't stop crying, his body shaking with each sob. Hao put a comforting arm around him, trying to offer some comfort. Hao
"He'll be okay, Gyuvin." Hao whispered, though his own voice trembled with fear.
The other members soon joined them, their faces pale and drawn with worry. They sat in silence, the minutes ticking by with agonizing slowness. After what felt like an eternity, the doctor emerged from the operation theater, his expression grave.
"How is he?" Hanbin asked, his voice barely above a whisper. They hoped for good news.
The doctor's words shattered their hopes.
"I'm sorry. We couldn't save him. He lost too much blood and the delay in getting here was critical." Doctor says and left from there.
Gyuvin fell to his knees, his world collapsing around him. Hao and the others were stunned, unable to process the loss of their friend and teammate. They watched in numb horror as Ricky's body was wheeled away.
The days that followed were a blur of grief and disbelief. Gyuvin, in particular, was inconsolable. He couldn't erase the image of Ricky's lifeless body from his mind. The bond they shared was irreplaceable, and living without Ricky seemed impossible.
A few days later, the members discovered a letter from Gyuvin. In it, he expressed his unbearable pain and his desire to join Ricky, unable to face life without him. The letter ended with a heartfelt goodbye.
When the members read Gyuvin's final words, they were devastated. They had just lost another teammate, another brother. The weight of their grief was almost too much to bear.
A month later, the remaining members visited the graveyard where Ricky and Gyuvin were buried side by side. They stood in silence, the reality of their loss sinking in.
"They were truly soulmates. I hope they're together and at peace now." Yujin said softly, looking at the graves.
They stayed for a while, reminiscing about the good times, the laughter, and the love they shared. Each visit to the graveyard was a way to keep the memories of Ricky and Gyuvin alive, a reminder of the bond that transcended even death.
As they left the graveyard, they vowed to honor their fallen friends by continuing to pursue their dreams, knowing that Ricky and Gyuvin would always be a part of them. The memories they had would forever be cherished, and the love they shared would never fade.
