The next day...
Baker's residence
Olivia's room
After a night of tossing and turning, Olivia is up and packing her belongings for school. She hears her phone ringing.
Olivia: Hey
Spencer: Hey, why is your voice down?
Olivia: (sighs as she sits on her bed) Nothing
Spencer: I take it, things didn't go well with your parents?
Olivia: Not really, I was just so mad yesterday; I feel like I said things that i should have said a long time ago.
Spencer: And how do you feel after that?
Olivia: Relieved, it feels like a huge burden has been lifted from me. I feel good.
Spencer: Yea, good to know. So, when am I seeing you?
Olivia: (smiles) Soon.
As Olivia was talking, she heard a knock on her door.
Olivia: Spencer, let me call you back. (she cuts the call) Come in.
Billy and Laura enter Olivia's room.
Billy: Good morning, baby girl.
Olivia: Good morning dad, good morning mum.
Laura: Sweetheart, can we talk?
Olivia: Okay.
Laura and Billy sit on Olivia's bed
Laura: (takes a pause) I am sorry, Olivia. I truly am. Whatever you think I did, trust me, it wasn't intentional.
Olivia: (scoffs) Whatever I think you did? Really mum?
Billy: Just calm down, let her speak.
Olivia: No, I am good. If my mother can't own up to what she did and admit that she did wrong, there is no point in apologising.
Laura: (she raises her voice) I am trying to make amends here, but you are proving difficult.
Olivia: Mum, honestly, we are good. I am good. I just want to get back to school.
Laura: So, is there a way you can help your sister out with Spencer? Please. She truly loves him and Spencer completely shattered her when he ended things with her.
Billy: Really Laura?
Olivia: (smiles as tears filled her eyes) No, it is something she would have to do on her own.
Laura: It is not like you are interested in Spencer, from what your sister said you were after him out of spite.
Olivia: If I was interested in him, would it have mattered to you? Please, if you don't mind, I want to be alone.
You know, mum you have a funny way of showing your motherly love when it comes to me.
Laura and Billy left, as Olivia wiped the little tears that escaped her eyes.
Billy and Laura's room
Billy: (shakes his head) You were supposed to go apologise to her, but you went there doing exactly what she complained about. Laura, what is wrong with you?
Laura: You actually believed all the nonsense she said yesterday? We have three children and she is the only one that has a problem with our parenting skills.
