Chapter 23

Girl's hostel

Olivia gets ready to leave the house to go meet with Spencer, while Kia and Davita sat in the sitting room waiting for Simone to show up.

Olivia: Girls, I don't think I can wait; I need to meet up with Spencer at Jordan's place. It is very important.

Kia: Yea, you should go. We would let you know whatever is going on.

Olivia: Okay. See you guys tomorrow. (she winks). Bye.

Olivia left the girls and in a few minutes Simone came knocking on the door and Kia lets her in.

Kia: Hey Simone.

Simone: (looking fed up) Hey (she dragged herself inside and sat on the couch with a deep sigh)

Davita: Okay! Hello to you too.

Kia:  I am surprised that you are here, that you even called me after ghosting us for more than a month. Honestly, we shouldn't be entertaining you here. Your call shocked me. Simone, you stopped picking our calls, replying our texts, we invited you to come spend the hols with us; you didn't show up.

Davita: For over a month Simone, we didn't see or hear from you.

Kia: And all this for just being a girlfriend. What will happen when he finally gives you a ring? He would make you disappear.?

Simone: He didn't do anything.

Kia: You are still defending him? You know what, that aside. What brings you here?

Simone: (sighs) I don't even know why I called you or why i am here.  I just really missed you guys 

Davita: Or maybe there is something bothering you and you need someone to listen. So you better speak before it is too late.

Simone: It is Troy.

Kia: We know. What did he do again? As he impregnated another person?

Simone: No. It is a different thing entirely. One minute he is professing his love and talking about building a future together with me, the next minute he is entertaining a bunch of women.

Kia: So, what exactly do you want to hear from us? Because as much as I want to talk, I am not ready to waste my time and energy knowing fully well you don't want to hear the truth.

Davita: (laughs) I feel like i have heard the word building too much that if i hear that word again, i will lose my mind. Simone, all this building you are doing is turning you crazy.

Simone: (rolls her eyes at Davita) I always listen to you guys and you know I want your honesty.

Davita: No, you don't. If you always listen, you won't be in this mess at all.

Simone: But this is me coming to you guys for help. Please.

Kia: I really want you to end things with him, but knowing you, you won't. So, we can start by asking you to come back here. Come and stay with us again.

Simone: How do I do that?

Davita: Do what? Tell him you are going back to your room. Girl, you need space. You are becoming a shadow of yourself.

Kia: Coming back here doesn't mean your relationship with him is over, even though I really want it to be over.

Simone: (gives her a stare) Come on.

Kia: Alright, just come back to your room. Give him time to miss you again. I mean, I am in a relationship with Darnell and we don't have to stay under the same roof to show that we are in love. We still recognise the fact that we are in college and we need to have our fun together and individually, too.
