Chapter 6

The next day...

Jordan and Naomi meet up after class at the Cafeteria...

Naomi: So, what is the real issue with you and Simone? Speak JB.

Jordan: JB? (he smiles) It's been quite a while I heard someone call me that.

Naomi: Yea, well, I gave you the nickname, remember? So, I am the only one allowed to call you that, mister.

Jordan: (laughs) Yea. Life was so much simpler back then.

Naomi: (nods her head)Hmm, tell me about it. So, back to my question. What is stopping you from talking to her?.

Jordan: Honestly, I don't know. Maybe I don't have the balls. She doesn't act like she is interested in me, either.

Naomi: Why would you say that? She is probably waiting for your dumb ass to make the move?

Jordan: I asked her to prom back in high school, and she went with some other guy. In her defense, though, she said she had said yes to the guy before I asked.

Naomi: So, you have this fear that she might turn you down again?

Jordan: Yes, and it is even worse now that she is going out with my friend, Troy.

Naomi: Oh! There is another guy in the picture.

Jordan: He is my friend, but he is an ass.

Naomi: (laughs) Jealous much?

Jordan: I am not jealous, it is just the fact.

Naomi: Well, if you don't make a move, you don't expect her to wait on you forever.

Jordan: What about you? Any guy yet? (sips his drink)

Naomi: Not yet. I have only truly loved one person, but his heart is somewhere else right now.(she smiles)

Jordan: So, you didn't date anybody in London?

Naomi: Hmmm, I did. Two of them, actually, but it was nothing serious. I didn't really see a future with them.

Jordan: Oh! I like your honesty. So, do I know this guy whose heart is somewhere else?

Naomi: (laughs) You will meet him soon. I promise.

Jordan: God, I miss talking to you.

Naomi: Same here. Good thing is I am back.

Jordan: Remember those days your mum would drop you at our house and myself, Liv, Layla and you would stay awake all night talking about our future?

Naomi: (laughs) Yea. Liv with the big dream. She said she was going to marry a big NFL star like your mum. Her obsession with your mum is crazy. She practically worships her.

Jordan: (wears a sad face) Well, their relationship has changed. I doubt she is as obsessed as before.

Naomi: Yea, it is so sad. But i understand Liv's actions though. Is Layla still the same as before?

Jordan: We keep our distance from her like an epidemic. It's quite saddening to see my sister limit herself from doing so many things because of her. The fact that my mom can't recognize the harm she's causing is mind-boggling. Despite my love for Layla, her behavior makes it difficult to keep loving her.

Naomi: Does Liv know the truth yet?

Jordan:Hmmm I doubt and i want to keep it that way. Even my mum and dad still don't know, i am aware. If she finds out, she will be even more upset with our parent.
