Chapter 24

Spencer and Olivia both ride to his apartment in silence, stealing glances at each other. Immediately he got to his apartment, they both went straight into his room. Olivia sat on his bed while Spencer stood in front of her.

Spencer: I am sorry. I shouldn't have attempted to leave you there. Babe, I was just upset.

Olivia: (sighs) I know you were. But it is all good now. Do you want to talk?

Spencer: (sat beside her) Yes, we should talk.

Olivia: So, what is going on in that head of yours?

Spencer: Nathan.

Olivia: What about Nathan?

Spencer: Were you ever going to tell me you are friends with a guy who is also in love with you?

Olivia: (Looks at him) Honestly, I never thought it mattered. We are just friends and I don't think you will have a problem with that.

Spencer: (sighs) Liv, I don't have a problem with you being friends with him, but the fact that you failed to mention that he confessed to loving you is what I have issues with. Why didn't you mention? How am I supposed to feel about your friendship with him?

Olivia: Because I didn't think it mattered, or it was important, Spencer. I turned him down immediately and let him know it was you I want; It is you I am in love with.

Spencer: And you think he will be okay with that and just move on, just like that?

Olivia: Yes. I mean, he told me, he wouldn't pursue, and he respects what we have.

Spencer: (stands up) Liv, come on, don't be naïve.

Olivia: I am not, babe. The guy is just a victim of my mum's drama, Spencer. He hasn't given me reasons to think otherwise.

(she stood up and hugged Spencer from behind) I had already turned him down when he told me he loved me. I can't turn him down for wanting to be friends. It won't be fair.

Spencer: (turns to face her) I will be honest with you. I don't feel right about your friendship with him. So, are you saying you turned him down and immediately his feelings for you just vanished? It doesn't work that way, Liv. People don't just fall out of love like that.

Olivia: Then that is on him, not me. I already told him I don't have love to give him, just friendship.

Spencer: (holds her hand and looks into her eyes) I am not okay with your friendship with him, but if you say there is no problem, then I will go with it.

Olivia: You have nothing to worry about, babe. And I am sorry I didn't tell you all about it earlier, i just didn't think it mattered.

Spencer: It is fine, babe. Just be careful.

Olivia: I am sorry and I will.

They both hugged each other and kissed passionately. Spencer led her to the bed. They both got tucked in comfortably.

Spencer: So,(he smiles) you could sleep without hearing from me? That hurt. (grabs his chest)

Olivia: (laughs) I lied. I wasn't asleep at all.

Spencer: (laughs) Now you are lying.

Olivia: Don't blame me. I needed to let you know I am a big girl and I can handle myself.

Spencer: How is that working for you?

They both laughed.

Olivia: Not like you can also sleep without me.
