Layla's Apartment
Layla speaking to Laura on the phone...
Laura: So, are you making progress with him?
Layla: No, mum. He is not even giving me the opportunity to even try to come close.
Laura: What is your sister doing about it?
Layla: Nothing mum. In short, I heard they spend a lot of time together these days. I am just sad, mum.
Laura: Well, you guys would be on break soon. What about I invite him over for our family trip?
Layla: I doubt he would agree to it. The only person that can make him tag along is Liv or Jordan.
Laura: Don't worry, leave that to me. Your happiness is all that matters to me and if he makes you happy, you get him.
Layla: What about Liv?
Laura: You remember that my friend's son, Nathan?
Layla: Oh! Yes. He and Liv were always playing together as kids before he relocated to Atl.
Laura: Yea, he is visiting L.A. this break, so the plan is to introduce him to Liv. It will be easy for them to get along since they were childhood friends. And that way, you make your move with Spencer.
Layla: That is good mum. Are you sure it is going to work?
Laura: Nathan is a good kid, and he is quite charming. He plays basketball. His mum said he will be entering the draft next year. Olivia can't resist him.
Layla: I am sure she won't.
Laura:(smiles) I am a proud mother. My daughters marrying future ball stars and there is Jordan. He would also be playing in the NFL. What more can a mother pray for? I just need your sister to cooperate with me. You know she can be difficult.
Layla: Yes mum. But I think Nathan has a good profile to sway her off her feet. Then I can finally have Spencer. (she smiles) I love you, mum. You're the best.
Laura: I just need to figure out how to get Spencer to come and also make reservations. It is going to be fun. We are all going to have fun.
The coming week was going to be quite a busy one for everybody as Olivia and her friends prepare for exams and also going on the much needed break before another semester begins.
Spencer's Apartment
Olivia sat on Spencer's bed as she focuses on reading her book, while Spencer could not help but steal glances at her.
Olivia: Quit studying me dude, you will not graduate.(she says as her eyes remain on her book)
Spencer: (laughs) Common, we have been reading for hours, plus we have just one exam to finish. Let's take a break. Please.
Olivia: You are just lazy, but when it comes to studying plays and football whatever, you don't take breaks. I literarily have to beg you to talk to me. Now you want a break?
Spencer: Football and School work is different. You know that.
Olivia: (laughs) I know right. Fine, let's take a brief break. I honestly can't wait to finish my last paper. It is going to be a long holiday for me except that I am not looking forward to going home.
Spencer: Would you come home with me? My mum would love to have you around.
Olivia: Hmm, tempting, maybe I can do a week at your place before going home. I don't want to face the wrath of Laura Baker. She already planned a family trip for us during this holiday. I don't know how I am going to survive that.
