Chapter 19

Dinner time:

The family made the decision to have their meal outside today. Olivia and Spencer were excessively affectionate, much to Layla's dismay. She maintained her gaze on the table, occasionally looking at Laura at the same time.

Laura: Nate, how was your walk with Liv? (she winks and smiles at him)

Nathan: It was great, we had a lot of things to catch up on and I am glad we took that walk.

Laura: Aww, I am so happy for you two.

Olivia: (rolls her eyes) Since we are all being happy for each other here, I have something to say.

Billy: Go ahead baby girl.

Olivia: (looks at Spencer and smile) Spencer and I have made it official. We are in a relationship now.

Laura: (Almost choked on her water, while Billy rubs her back to help her calm down) What?

Jordan: (giggles) Olivia and Spencer are now official. They are a couple.

Laura: Shut up Jordan, I heard her. But what does that even mean?

Jordan: It symbolizes the decision of two people in love to unite as one. Just as you and dad are.

Billy: (giggles) Jordan behave!

Spencer, Olivia, and Naomi couldn't help but laugh, but immediately stopped after seeing Laura's face turn red.

Laura: No! Never.

Layla: I told you mum. She wants to ruin my life. (she stood up and walk away).

Laura: Layla, Layla, (she called her but Layla walked away angrily)

Naomi: (whispers to Jordan) I thought she was in a relationship with Chris?

Laura: Olivia, what do you mean by Spencer and you are in a relationship?

Olivia: Is that a rhetorical question or am I supposed to answer mum?

Laura: Don't act funny, young lady. I have always known you are very self-centered and would do anything possible to cause drama in this family.

Olivia: I guess I am consistent with something, mum.

Laura: I am not in support of this and i would never approve of your relationship with him.

Olivia: Why? Because it is not Layla?

Laura: My decision about this is final.

Olivia: I am sorry mum, you don't get to decide. Babe, let's go. (she walks away and Spencer followed her).

Laura also left the table angrily, while her husband Billy followed her.

Nathan: Guys, I guess I will call it a night.

Jordan: Nate, I am really sorry you had to witness all of that.

Nathan: It is fine (he smiles, stood up and left).

Jordan: I guess we are the only one on the table and there is enough to eat.

They both laughed.

Naomi: Liv is now standing up for herself. I am impressed.

Jordan: They pushed her enough.

Laura and Billy's room.

In a fit of rage, Laura storms into her room and restlessly walks around.

Billy: Babe, would you calm down?
