When Jade had finally calmed down and stopped crying, she held onto Jacob a bit longer, before pulling away, looking at him uncertain what to even say. After a bit, she whispered, "Thank you, Jacob." She said softly, gazing at him, wiping some of the remnants of tears from her cheeks.
Jacob gazed at her and smiled gently, reaching out and rubbing her cheek with his thumb, "Any time, Morning Dove." He said softly, before pulling his hand away, and checking the time, "You should probably get ready and get some breakfast, you and Leppy have to leave for school in about 30 minutes." He explained softly, looking up at Jade again.
Jade listened, uncertain, before she nodded quietly, "Alright then... do I have a backpack or any school supplies though?"
Jacob watched and smiled nodding softly, "Yeah, don't worry. It's black and white stripes, but we figured you'd decorate it somehow over time. Don't worry." He said gently, watching her, before standing, leaving her alone to get dressed quietly, gently closing the door.
Jade listened as she heard his footsteps walk down the hall towards the stairs. She had been expecting to have heard the door lock for some reason when he left. After a moment of thought, she carefully stood up, and made the bed quietly, before getting dressed for the day.
Jade put on one of her new striped shirts, shifting it carefully making sure her shoulders were completely covered, flapping the sleeves around her wrists a bit. It felt comforting, in a way. When she was younger, she used to wear a second shirt over the top of the singular striped shirt she had and wore all the time, because it mostly deterred her dad from trying to hurt her. She paused and shook her head, trying to clear her head of those thoughts.
She finished quietly by putting the fishnet stockings on, and a pair of shorts, that went down to about her mid-thigh. She hesitated, before picking up the new shoes she'd been allowed to get, debating uncertain, before sitting down on the bed, putting them on quietly, having difficulty with all the buckles. When she stood, she stumbles slightly, not used to the slight extra height they gave, and having some difficulty adjusting right away, at around 6'3 in the heels. She also had a scar on her right leg, which she had received when she blew up Westernburg, and it had left her with a permanent limp. She was able to mostly hide it, but it was much more difficult with new terrain or different shoes she wasn't used to wearing. After determining she could go to school like this, she left her room quietly, looking around quietly, before going to the bathroom, brushing her teeth, and attempting to brush her hair. It was easier to just leave it unbrushed because whenever her power activated, it left her hair a frizzy mess that no one, including her, could straighten out.
As soon as she got to the bottom step before she could get even two steps toward the kitchen, she suddenly let out a sharp squeal and jumped, nearly stumbling and falling due to her limp. "Leppy!"
Leppy had popped up next to her almost instantly, "Good Morning Jade! Are you okay? I was getting something out for us to do, and I just heard this scream! Dad looked about ready to kill someone, he had his katana out and everything! What happened?" she asked, looking at her worried. She quickly grabbed Jade's wrists, not letting her fall, "Easy there! No breaking ankles allowed!" she was about 6'11 with her mismatched boots on, which had more laces than normal, and some chains and stars.
Jade gazed at her, trembling, steadying herself carefully, "Morning, I'm okay Leppy. Just... something with my power. That's all, I'm fine, I promise." she explained softly gazing at her, before giggling softly, "if you don't want me breaking ankles, don't spook me like that!"
Leppy blinks, tilting her head worried, before shrugging and smiling, "Okay, if that's it. Come on, we need to have breakfast before we leave, okay?"
