After Leppy had gotten back with Molly it was bedtime, and they thought Jade had gone to bed already. About 10 minutes after bedtime, Leppy slipped into Jade's room and practically jump scared her awake by accident. She then dragged her downstairs quietly down to the garage.
"How exactly will we get the cart out? Wouldn't they wake up as soon as the garage door opens?" Jade asked, staring at Leppy confused.
Leppy grins and giggles, "Who said anything about opening the garage door? Get in the passenger seat it will be fine, I've done this countless times."
Jade listens, frowning lightly but nods getting into the passenger side, and putting on her seatbelt. She watched as Leppy climbed in, gripping the cart and then gripping Jade's hand tightly. I'm about 5 seconds Jade saw a flash of pink and then they were in a different area, in an alleyway. Leppy then proceeded to pull out a bottle of spray paint from a compartment under her seat, drawing a line in front of the golf cart bumper and the tail lights. She then slipped it back under, locking it grinning.
"There we go! Now we just have to park between the two lines and we will be home and Mom and Dad will never know the difference! Let's drive!" Leppy said giggling and getting back in, buckling up and turning on the cart.
Jade stared at her, blinking surprised looking around, "I- that was one of your powers wasn't it?"
Leppy grins and nods, "Yep! If you want to doze off you can, it's about an hour's drive because she lives in Olympia. So, we will probably get home in at least three hours. Would you like to listen to some music on the way there?" She asked, pulling out of the alleyway and heading straight to the highway which was just outside the alleyway by less than a mile.
Jade watched, tilting her head uncertain before nodding, "Sure? Also is it safe to be on the highway in this? There isn't much glass to protect us." She said.
Leppy smiles and giggles as they reach a red light, reaching back into a cubby hole area in the middle before pulling out a pink and white helmet which was covered in knives and a blank helmet, "Here ya go! These are what we use on the highway, a bit more protective. You can decorate yours at home tomorrow probably." She said grinning at Jade, slipping hers on.
Jade watched uncertainly but nodded, putting hers on, Leppy leaning over and pulling down the protective glass part on hers before doing the same to her own. She then messed with the radio, starting a CD before hitting the gas and speeding up as she entered the highway.
Jade couldn't hear much, other than the rushing of wind, but she could hear the music. She'd never heard the music before, she didn't even know what it was, but it kept her from dozing off again. She could also hear faintly over the wind Leppy singing along with it.
After about a solid hour on the highway, Leppy pulled off the highway onto an exit, pulling into an unknown town. As she stopped at a light she turned down the music, looking to Jade grinning, "Whatcha think? Or are you awake?"
Jade looked to Leppy, blinking a bit uncertain, and said, "I'm awake, I couldn't fall asleep. I've never heard that type of music before, what was it?"
Leppy grins, tapping her hands on the wheel, "It was a custom CD I made, it has a ton of my favorite songs from a lot of different bands! It has My Chemical Romance, Falling in Reverse, Hollywood Undead, and a few others."
Jade just stared at her, blinking a few times, "Never heard any of them." She finally said after the light turned green and Leppy started driving.
Leppy grins and giggles, "Mom hates most of my music, but Jacob doesn't mind it. Joseph and Evermore also like it. The person we're heading to also likes it but she always gives a psychological explanation for each song and the effects it can have on you."
