Most of the rest of the night was a blur to Jade. For about a solid half hour she was unconscious and had been struggling to try and figure out who the figure in front of her was. The room kept changing constantly, sometimes so fast it made Jade dizzy. Each one was a different room she'd had growing up, from the one she had when her mom died to the one she had when she was dating Everly. After about 25 minutes of this, the figure disappeared and she got stuck in a completely black space, unable to get out.
After Jade had woken up it was mostly just some minor things, and Lillian and Leppy introduced her to all the other animals. When they had finally left and gotten home, it was about three in the morning. Jade had passed out as soon as she had reached her room and gotten on her bed but woke up at 5. Technically, she'd slept for 2 and a half hours if she counted the half-hour she had gotten when she was unconscious but that hadn't been restful. Her birth mom had made herself visible to Jade while she was getting ready, warning her to keep an eye on her food for the next few days.
Before she had been about to leave, when she was filling up the water bottle she had in her backpack, Molly had come down and after greeting her good morning had given her a handful of pills, explaining she needed to start taking them every morning. She also explained that some family friends were coming over, friends who had moved back into town after something had happened a couple of years ago. They had a girl around Jade's age and another one who would just be starting high school this year. They'd be there for dinner and then an hour or two after so that the kids could reunite and get to know each other better.
After learning this it had made Jade much more anxious for the day for some reason, getting an uneasy feeling. This didn't help with taking the handful of pills, it made her feel like she was choking a bit. Apparently, she wasn't supposed to take them all at once, only one at a time.
The school wasn't much better either. For the first class, Leppy managed to pop out of existence when Jade wasn't looking. Luckily, Zoe had the same Statistics class as she and Leppy, so she drove Jade to the main library in town, showing her the fastest route to and from there, making it back only 15 minutes late to the class. The next one though, Zoe wasn't in. During the transfer time, Jade managed to lose Leppy again, so even when she looked into the Forensic Science classroom found that Leppy was not there, so she had to walk to the library and drag her back. They were about 25 minutes late to class from that. Luckily through all of this, her power didn't activate at all, even though it usually would have and Jade expected it to. At the third class though, the ASL language class, Jade felt worn out and exhausted like her battery had died already for the day.
When Jade walked into the library again, walking over to the spot Leppy was this time, reading over a book, Jade just stared at her. After a moment she asked, "Hey Leppy, if I took a nap for about 20 minutes would you take us back to school that way? You know, with your teleportation power?"
Leppy looks at her surprised, blinking a bit before nodding and smiling brightly, "Sure! You look tired are you okay?"
Jade listened and sat down next to her legs on the floor, curling her legs into her chest as she leaned into Leppy a bit, "Just tired, that's all." She said softly, her eyes drifting shut almost instantly as she drifted off.
Jade couldn't sense anything while she was out of, the occasional shift from Leppy which stirred her a bit but didn't wake her up, mumbled voices around the library. She woke up shivering and being shaken gently. Leppy had shifted off the couch onto the floor and was shaking her.
"Jade, wake up. Come on, wake up. It's been nearly an hour there's only 20 minutes left to class!" Leppy said, shaking her shoulders.
Jade whimpers softly, rubbing her eyes a bit, looking at her in confusion as she uncurled her legs, "What do you mean? It only takes me about 10 minutes to walk here and I only sleep for about 20 minutes at a time." she said looking confused.
