Apparently, when they had guests over they usually used the outdoor patio table, because it was bigger and there would be more space for them. When Jacob was about to explain what the family was like and who they were, Jade proceeded to ask if they were Brian and Jasmine Devins, with two daughters named Pearl and Amethyst.

Jacob stares at her blinking a few times, "I, uh.... Morning Dove how do you know that?" he asked in confusion tilting his head, setting down the forks he had been setting out.

Jade watched and said softly, "I ran into Pearl today at school and she said they were coming to visit tonight and that you were friends." she explained softly watching Jacob.

Jacob watched her, tilting his head before asking her, "Was Pearl one of your friends while you were at Westernburg. Last I knew they were out of town during the time you would have been attending. And she didn't attend Westernburg..." he said in confusion.

Jade listens and says softly, "Their my younger cousins. Their Dad was his brother." she explained softly.

Jacob listens his eyes widening in surprise, "I did not know that. I didn't even realize they had family on Brian's side, I just knew about the family on Jasmine's side." he explained watching Jade. He paused quietly, thinking before saying, "It'll be good for you to get to see more of your family again!" he said smiling at her.

Jade watched and smiles softly nodding, "The last time I saw them I was 5, Mom insisted on me meeting my cousins, same with their Mom" she explained softly.

Jacob listens smiling before nodding, "Anyways, we should be getting inside, they should be here any minute." he said chuckling softly, before offering to take Jade's hand watching her, "It'll be okay Morning Dove, I promise."

Jade watched before taking his hand quietly, nodding understanding, "Okay Dad" she said softly following him.

Jacob, who had almost reached the back door stopped and looked to her surprised, "I- what did you call me Morning Dove?" he asked tilting his head surprised.

Jade blinks pausing uncertain, "Sorry, I just..." she hesitated trying to figure out what to say, "I called you Dad? If you think it's too soon I won't do it again I'm sorry..." she trailed off uncertain.

Jacob blinks and shook his head quickly moving over, putting his hands on her shoulders, "I want you to feel comfortable being here, and I won't force you to call or to not call me something, okay? I just wasn't expecting it, that's all!" he said smiling at her gently.

Jade listens before saying softly, "I'm wanting to try? I'm not fully sure, but just... something about you makes me feel safe, like no matter what happens I just... know that you won't do anything bad to me and that you won't let anything like... that... happen again." she explained softly watching her.

Jacob watched before smiling softly and hugging her gently, "No one will hurt you, I'll make sure of it. It's not a guarantee since I can't do anything at school or when I'm not around you, but I'll do my best to." he said softly.

Jade listens, hugging him back carefully before saying softly, "It sounds like someone just got here? I heard a car pull into the driveway."

Jacob blinks before nodding, "Probably them. Come on, lets get inside." he said before leading Jade inside, going into the living room area.

Jade follows and goes over to Leppy, looking to her uncertain as Molly went to answer the front door as someone knocked.

Leppy looks to Jade and grins before leaning over whispering in her ear, "Zoe's mom ungrounded her and gave her her phone back! She can text now!" she whispered, grinning and bouncing slightly.
