Throughout the rest of the morning, you had come to learn a thing or two about your situation.

First and foremost, the men around you did not want to hurt you. Not yet, at least. The talkative idiot was revealed to be named Hugo, while the quiet one was named Mike.

They had gone, for hours on end, through all of the history of The Warriors and how they came to be: how desperate some Marleyan folk felt after The Rumbling. How the imminent need of connection, community, and revenge had brought them all together.

For the first time, you heard more things about Eren - at least, from their perspective. It had never been more evident to you before just how much pain and damage he had caused. Even for those he loved the most.

You knew then that no matter what they did to you, and now matter what happened in the following hours or days, they could not become aware of you possesing the founding titan. The consequences could be atrocious for your friends. For Levi.

Fuck. Levi.

You thought of him as you sat against the cell door. You remembered how badly all of those cunts had gotten to him. He was too outnumbered. Your heart ached whenever you thought of how much he was probably blaming himself.

But in true, you understood that this entire situation was just a ticking bomb... hours swiftly passing before it would explode.

Hugo sat on a small chair against the cell bars as he observed you. He smoked a lot, you noticed. And as much as it frustrated you, you could not find malice in his gaze.

For all you knew, these Warriors were just the opponent players in a twisted game you had never grown acquinted with until recently. A part of you felt sorry for these people, but you could not let your guard down. At least not fully.

'He is okay, you know', Hugo let out of nowhere as he stood up slowly, cigar still hanging from his lips as he spoke softly.

'Our men could have killed him. And you. But you already know that', he continued.

It was strange. For the last hours, it had felt as if he was somewhat capable to read your mind. It might have been just the effects of having the upper hand in this situation, but it felt bizarre. The feeling was invasive and disarming.

'Why didn't you?', your voice was almost a whisper. You had felt your body weaken throughout the last hours.

'Because, as much as you hide in those uniforms, we know you are not Jaegerists, love. You see, us Warriors have gotten smarter these last years. And we have eyes and ears everywhere. Did you really think you would be able to hide in those training quarters long?', he scoffed, then looked into your eyes so intentely you felt your stomach turn.

'Huh. You truly have no idea how long we've been following you. Love, we look forward to meeting humanity's... former? strongest in a fair fight', he continued, smoke gathering around his frame as he kept his gaze locked on yours.

'Whatever it is you want me to do, I will do it. Just don't hurt them', you could feel your eyes water as you spoke.

And you suddenly connected some dots. The Warriors had most certainly regrouped quite soon after The Rumbling. That's probably why hey had recognized Levi and your friends so easily.

In contrast, Jaegerists trainees were quite new to the movement. They had new waves of recruits coming in constantly. Young fanatics who couldn't possibly be familiar with your people.

God. You felt so fucking weak, but you could not allow yourself to express fear in your tone or demeanor. You needed to stay focused.

'What you will do for us, will inevitably kill them, darling. That's just how it goes. Now, the titan that you posess will help us win this war against the idiot Jaegerists, once and for all. But, wiping them out means your little friends will come after you, that's for sure. And when they do, we will destroy them. The quicker you come to terms with this, the less pain you'll feel. I promise', he mused.
