LEVI'S POV

Everything happened so fast. Levi could feel the heat of the flames against his skin, his cheeks burning in a red, awfully drowning sensation. And he could not focus. Not for a second. This was definitely new to him: Levi had been such a grounded leader his whole life. A captain. But not today. Not when you were at stake.

In the distance, screaming arose. Desperate, almost animalistic sounding noises Levi could not make sense of. And so many desperate mumbles laced in the chaotic symphony that surrounded him. That's when it hit him: he needed to get his shit together. He could not fuck this up.

Right around him ran his old squad. Levi took a brief second to look into everyone's eyes: they all seemed so determined. So ready to fight for you. To get you back. Levi felt lucky right then. Lucky to be surrounded by the people he loved the most, all fighting to get the love of his life back.

Soon enough, Mikasa led the group toward The Warriors headquarters gate. Many Jaeggerists were surrounding the entrance, all organized and in complete sync. Levi narrowed his eyes as he pushed through the people around him. He understood then that he would never be ready to lose you. He could never heal from that. And that's why he was willing to fight until his last breath to keep you alive.

'Move! You know what to do! Dedicate your hearts!', Finn screamed out so loud Levi turned his head to meet his eyes. He looked at Levi for some seconds, then nodded at him reassuringly.

Everyone separated then. The plan Levi and his squad had in mind needed to be executed perfectly in order to work. And nothing could fuck it up.

Don't fuck this up, he whispered silently to himself as he continued sprinting.

As Levi got inside the headquarters, it hit suddenly him: there were too many Warriors. Jaeggerists were certainly outnumbered. And they would need to rely on strategy and hiding in order to make it.

Levi noted they were all carrying ODM gear, so that meant they were trained on it, they knew how to operate it. But why would they need it? Were they planning on taking you down after using you?

Fucking bastards.

Levi suddenly started swiping between eager bodies who tried (and failed) so slice through him. He didn't like to admit it to himself, but he had missed feeling that strong. Ever since he had lost you that night, he had silently punished himself for not being able to save you. To protect you.

Yet, there he was, carefully dodging and mercilessly killing those bastards. And he was determined to continue doing so until he found you and took you back.

In an instant, Reiner and Jean appeared, providing Levi with some support. Not that he really needed it, but he understood that the stakes were too high. Neither him or his squad could afford to lose anyone else. Not again.

Never again.

In the distance, Levi observed Armin and Connie fighting against more Warriors. The duo was agile and strategic, and he felt relieved knowing his squad could handle themselves. If they could hold just a little bit longer, they might be able to find you before you shift. Levi and his squad were hoping it would not come to that.

'Now, keep moving! I will see you soon!', Levi yelled out. Jean and Reiner nodded simultaneously and continued to fight Warriors.

If what his squad and the Jaeggerist trainees had theorized before the attack was correct, you could be at two different spots: you were either hiding all the way down the barracks, were they most likely kept their heavy artillery. Or you were not there at all. Probably hidden outside the barracks, or god fordbade it, outside Paradis.
