YOUR POV

It feels as if time had stood still for what felt like an eternity. And when you open your eyes, you know exactly where you are. Your mouth slightly tastes of blood. You swallow hard and take a good look at your surroundings.

The sky above you is dark blue, and that familiar constellation you have seen a couple of times now is still laced across it. You think it's truly a beautiful sight.

You suddenly become aware of your body feeling cold. Very cold. And that's when you realize that, somehow, your clothes are gone.

As you stand completely bare, you can feel the sand burying your toes deeper. It's an oddly comfortable sensation. The breeze gives you goosebumps. Yet your ease is quickly challenged once you detect some familiar faces in the distance.

Eren. Ymir.

It makes sense, you think. That they had brought you here. Suddenly, you remember Hugo grabbing you from behind. You recall the feeling of cold steel against your neck. You remember Levi.

God, Levi.

You had shifted, that was certain. You could only hope Levi would be okay. That him and your friends would survive the battle. The battle you could not help but feel was your fault.

And it hits you: being inside The Coordinate will last almost an instant. Any second now, you will be controlling your titan. Fighting. Killing people.

Fuck, you don't think you're ready. How could anyone be ever ready for that?

Before you know it, Ymir and Eren approach you, and stand facing you. It's odd - you don't feel embarrassed standing in front of them completely bare. It's peculiarly natural to you, as if you were simply standing there, just as you came into this world.

Vulnerable. Open. Essential.

And in true, you had come there to stand in your most basic, elemental form. A certain word continued to ring inside your head, uncontrollably: vessel.

Both of them look at you intentely, their eyes navigating your body. Eren smiles softly, his lips curving ever so slightly as he extends his hand to hold yours.

And your hand finds his almost like a magnet, his fingers intertwining with yours like second nature. You realize you don't have to think about your movements. In that moment, nothing is truly deliberate: it is as automathic as breathing.

Without you realizing, Ymir's hand laces with your opposite palm. Both of them are standing to your sides. In complete sync, the three of you begin walking toward the explosion of lights.

That tree-shaped, explosive fountain of lights. It is so beautiful, you think to yourself. And you quietly realized had missed it. You had missed been in presence of it. But your quiet admiration is interrupted by a sudden, stern voice.

'Thank you', you suddenly look to your right. Eren is looking forward, still you know he is talking to you.

A pause. You gather your thoughts and continue to look at the symphony of lights.

'What are you thanking me for?', you inquire softly.

Eren turns his head slightly to face you, his green eyes finding yours. A subtle, proud-looking smile decorates his expression. His gaze is serene, yet haunting.

'For figthing. Thank you for fighting', his smile dissolves slightly as he finishes his sentence.

So you will use your titan. You will fight Warriors, then. And in this strange place where time doesn't make much sense, where events are not lineal, it seems like you have all ready done it.

Well, good. You think that's good. Yet, there's an eerie sensation invading the scene you can't quite help but sense. Some unspoken truths you'd much rather have revealed. And soon.

And all of a sudden, you want answers. You continue to walk beside the two of them when you decide to speak, glancing at Ymir who keeps moving forward slowly.

'Why me? Why do I have this necklace? Why do I have the founding titan?', there is a hint of desperation laced in your tone.

Still, Ymir continues walking as she looks ahead in silence.

Before, when you had been brought The Coordinate, Ymir had shown you things. But this is the first time she has ever been here with Eren. At this strange beach. Or you might not be quite right...

But what is The Coordinate even? Had those visions Eren had taken you to been The Coordinate as well? Fuck, you are so confused.

You hear Eren'a deep voice again, which prompts you to turn to face him.

'You have your necklace, the reason you can shift, because you were meant to end this incesant conflict', Eren explains.

He suddenly takes a deep breath, then continues talking as he faces forward, toward the incesant light.

'You are the last founding titan. That is why you cannot see it's future vessels. Why were you cursed with this? Only Ymir knows those things, and she shows you what she pleases', he lightly chuckles.

Eren chuckles as he lets out those words.

Fucking hell. You are going insane. This is insane. Everyone is insane. You had been cursed and doomed with this secret. This power which had become the most horryfing burden. And for what? Were you suppoused to just simply accept that you would never know?

You feel dizzy all of a sudden as you have a visceral reaction to all of this information. What is the fucking point, then? You fight and then what? Conflict ends forever? Everyone lives in peace? You are certainly not naive enough to believe that.

In one abrupt motion, you stop in your tracks, prompting Ymir and Eren to stop walking as well. Both of your hands still hold theirs as you close your eyes shut, your mind loud with thoughts you can't seem to escape.

And it hits you. One more time, another realization hits you but this time you don't feel frozen in place. It doesn't leave your paralyized.

As you open your eyes, you lock your gaze on Eren's. It's all clear to you now. There is no need for pleading or begging. And somehow, you think you knew all along. You part your lips as you take a deep breath.

'Ymir has showned me. She has placed a part of herself inside of this necklace. Inside of the secret I hold. Inside me', your tone is soft yet stern as you gather your thoughts.

Eren parts his lips as his eyebrows frown slightly. He seems fully focused on your every word. You then continue.

'All those dreams. All those years of questions. It all comes to this', you whisper as you look at Ymir.

And now, she is looking at you.

For the first time since you saw her first, her eyes are on you. They study you in silence, expectantly. And you know exactly why.

Tears stream down your face. Everything is crystal clear now. How could it not be? The goosebumps in your body are gone, now replaced by ferocious determination.

You are not scared. And you will never be scared  ever again. Not anymore.

'I am a piece of you Ymir. And as such will I die'
