🎈CHAPTER 40🎈

°Carlita's POV°

I sneaked into his office, where he was working on his new book, he looked damn fine staring at the screen, deep in thought, as his fingers moved over the keyboard. I made my way towards his desk, behind the chair he was sitting on, putting my arms around his shoulders, placing my head in-between his neck and shoulder.

He turns his head looking at me with a big smile on his face. "Hey, beautiful. You're here early." Bill says, giving me a kiss.

"Yeah, I finished work earlier than expected, with nothing else to do, I came straight here." I told him, he was about to pull me into another kiss, when his cellphone started ringing, making him sigh.

The caller ID showed it was Mike, he answered it, putting it on speaker, so that I could hear what the other man had to say.

"Mike?"

"Hey. I just thought I'd check up on you and Carlita, and to see if you learned how to finish a book for once." Mike says, making him chuckle. "He just finished the first chapter." I say, Bill got up going towards the window, dragging me with him, as he wrapped his arm around my waist.

"And I think I actually know where I'm going this time." Bill tells him proudly.

"Good."

"Say, can I ask you a question?" Bill asks, sitting down, pulling me on his lap, I wrapped my arms around his neck.

"Sure."

"Why do you think we're not forgetting? You know, like last time?" Bill curiously asks.

"Maybe cause it's dead. Or maybe cause we have more we want to remember than we want to forget." Mike states.

"I like that one." Bill says kissing my shoulder blade lightly, he's been very affectionate since everything ended, but I didn't complain.

"Mikey, have you decided what your going to do now? You know, about leaving Derry?" I ask Mike.

"Carli, I've been in this cell for 27 years. Just seeing what it wanted me to. I think it's time I saw the sky for a change." Mike says.

"Go get it, Mikey." Bill states, encouraging him to follow his dreams.

"Oh, did you guys get the letter?" Mike questions.

"What letter?" Bill asks confused.

"You'll know when you see it." Mike says.

"Well, hold on. I just got the mail." Bill says, as I got up, going to his desk where there were a pile of letters, one letter stood out, so I gave it to Bill.

"We all got one."

"Patricia Uris?"

"Just... Just read it."

"Okay."

"And call me. Anytime."

"I will."

"And Bill, Carli. I love you guys."

"We love you too Mikey."

"All right. See you around."

He stared at the letter, before opening it, sitting back in his chair, I stood behind him, to read the letter as well.

Dear Losers,

I know what this must seem like, but this isn't a suicide note. You're probably wondering why I did what I did. It's because I knew I was too scared to go back, and if we weren't together, if all of us alive weren't united, I knew we'd all die. So, I made the only logical move. I took myself off the board. Did it work? Well, if you're reading this, you know the answer. I lived my whole life afraid. Afraid of what would come next. Afraid of what I might leave behind. Don't. Be who you want to be.  Be proud, and if you find someone worth holding on to, never ever let them go. Follow your own path. Wherever that takes you, think of this letter as a promise. A promise I'm asking you to make. To me. To each other. An oath. See the thing about being a loser is you don't have anything to lose.

So... Be true. Be brave. Stand. Believe. And don't ever forget... We're losers and we always will be.

I wiped the tears from my cheeks, way to make me cry Stan, looking at Bill he was crying as well, I gave him a hug from behind, hiding my face in his back.

"You okay?" I heard him ask, I only nodded, getting myself together, afterwards letting go, he turned around giving me a small smile.

"So, what do you want to do tonight?" He asks, touching my cheek slightly.

"Let's just go to your house and watch movies, and I'll make you dinner as well, I don't wanna go home, my brother and his wife has been asking too many questions." I say, with a frown, remembering how my brother and his wife keep questioning me, it was getting tiring, they never seem to be satisfied with anything i do, i mean I'm a grown woman, pretty sure i can decide by myself about what would make me happy.

"How about I take you to my bed, and get rid off all the tension your body have been holding onto?" Bill asks into my hear, making me shiver in delite.

"That works, too." I state with a cheeky smile, this very moment was just perfect, I wouldn't want to exchange it for anything or anyone else, the part of me that was missing, it was Bill all along, and I'm not letting go.

He sweeped me from the floor, holding me bridal style, giving me a playful smirk, as he says, "Hope your ready, I'm keeping you busy the whole night." Just by those words I felt everything in myself going up in flames, what a long and passionate night was laying up ahead.
