"Look Brown, I know you may not want to talk about work now...but you have to pray about it. You need to talk to God about the problems you're facing now since you can't open up to someone else so that you would know what to do next. Remember, do not take any decision without letting your Father know first-" Jane said as Brown sucked in a sharp breath. She noticed it immediately.

"I meant your Heavenly father..." she said as he snorted.

"Thanks Jane, I need my space now." He said expressionlessly. Jane sighed and got up.

"Jeremiah wanted to talk to you earlier but you weren't around. When would you be able to see him?" She asked as she remembered telling Jerry to talk to his dad and forgive him, saying that he had changed. But he seems to have gone back to his cold, distant attitude. Brown shook his head.

"I'll speak with him later." He said simply as she nodded and left.

"Dear Lord we thank you for life, for this home and for our family. We are grateful for how you have sustained us. Father we pray for peace in our home, we pray that you restore the joy of our salvation and you help dad to get better. Please help him to be happy again and let him join us for our family devotions like he used to. In Jesus name I pray, Amen." Jemima, concluding the prayer as Jane took a deep breath.
So the children weren't oblivious to the fact that their father's attitude had gone cold and distant again. Worse of all, he had stopped praying with the family for a long time and it had affected the once perfect relationship he used to have with them. Jane knew her children were sad and Jeremiah was confused especially after Brown had apologized and was nice towards them and all of a sudden, he's cold and distant again like a teenager who's going through mood swings.

"Kids, I know you not happy with your dad but he's going through a lot now and we need to pray for him like never before so that he can get better quickly. So you'll pray for dad okay?" She asked as they all nodded.

"Now let's go to bed. Tomorrow's school and you need to be awake on time." She said as Jemima and Josie hugged her and went to their respective rooms.

"Is this about grandpa?" Jeremiah asked, as Jane became tensed. She took a deep breath and sat beside him.

"You know how close your dad was to his father. Losing him all of a sudden is a huge loss to him, coupled with the fact that things are not really going well with the company he left behind in your dad's care. Just give him sometime, he'll definitely come around. You do know he cares about you right? "She asked as Jeremiah nodded.

"Okay then...I'll be praying for him. Good night Mom." He said as he hugged her and left for his room. Brown sat in a corner in the dining room and he heard everything. He felt bad that his family were hurting but he hurt the more because his own father just passed away recently. He had a very strong bond with his father and now he felt empty, especially when his relationship with God was seriously deteriorating everyday. Then when Jane had told him to talk to his 'Heavenly Father', he felt angry and hurt at once.
He didn't see God as his father anymore because he felt betrayed by his dad's death especially now that he was going through a lot with the company and his finances were really suffering. He felt a little guilty for not opening up to Jane even after she had begged him to, but he didn't want her preaching to him.

Although he appreciated the fact that they were praying for him, he wasn't on good terms with God and decided to leave home to clear his head and continue mourning his father without hurting his family even though he knew it would be tough for him to convince Jane about his decision.
