"So, my team in charge of the extraction process would be heading this project." Mr Jedidiah said to Brown in his office."But-" Brown started as Mr Jedediah cut him off.
"Got any issues with that, Mr Brown Nze?" He asked, smiling which sounded wierd to Brown as he called his full name and his smile looked forced. He sighed.
"No sir." He said simply.
"Good. Today, we'll begin our journey to the extraction site and do some supervisions." He said.
"Okay. Is there anything we have to do first before we begin? "He asked.
"Well, we would be meeting with the community heads today and the project would commence immediately after their approval. Now shall we?" He asked, standing as Brown nodded and they both walked out of the office and entered a sleek jeep. The driver drove off immediately, with a few car escorts behind them.
"Excuse me Mr Jed, may I ask a question?" He asked as Mr Jedediah nodded, smiling.
"What makes you so confident in the approval of these people? I mean, what if they reject us? The whole team is already at the location and we're not even sure if they'll comply." He said as Mr Jedediah adjusted his spectacles before replying.
"Well, for your information Mr Brown, we have strategies and measures we take if anything like that should happen, the reason why I put my workers in charge of this project. Besides, our offer comes with so much benefits to their community so it would be hard for them not to accept us, especially with how underdeveloped their town is." He replied as Brown nodded in response.
"They have no choice anyways, no one rejects me." Mr Jedidiah muttered, looking out the window with a malevolent look on his face. Brown pretended not to hear him by busying himself with his laptop but kept wondering what he meant.

Jeremiah's POV
"Did you guys hear?" Amanda asked, settling down in her seat beside me.
"Hear what?" Steven asked as I nodded. He had already asked the question I wanted to ask.
"That this term's exam is a few weeks away." She said as Steven shrugged.
"I knew that anyways. We've done quite a lot this term so I knew we were already drawing nearer to the end." He said as I groaned.
"What?" Amanda asked.
"My studying time has not really been going well lately, I haven't prepared properly and I've barely touched my project. Cynthia and I haven't done anything and the deadline's on Friday!" I said, sighing.
"That's not good Jerry. You have to find a way to make her serious with this project or else you'll both fail and it would put a flaw on your perfect academic record." She said.
"Well, I'm also in Jerry's shoes so I'd take that advice too." He said, winking at her as he stood up.
"Where are you going?"I asked.
"I've got basketball practice. Remember we've got a competition next week and we have to be fully prepared if we want to win this time." He said, cracking his knuckles loudly.
"I'll come watch you!" Amanda squealed excitedly as Steven chuckled.
"Bro, you coming? "He asked.
"Give me sometime. I'll be there ." I said as Amanda pulled him away before he could reply. I smiled at them then put my books into my bag before heading out.
I rested my head on my table since I didn't get enough sleep last night. I was feeling a bit dizzy so I decided to nap a little."Hey! Get your butt off my space!"
I heard an angry voice yell but I ignored it, thinking it was just some kids arguing over their seats."No way! I own this seat and no one can take it away from me. Frieda! Come sit here. I need someone who'd guard my seat from these things." I heard someone say proudly.
"What?! How dare you call me a thing?! Do you know who my father is?" An enraged voice asked.
"And why should I know him? I'm sure he's just some random person out there-" her sentence stopped abruptly as i heard a loud slap land on her cheeks followed by whimpers.
"How dare you! You filthy thing!"
"Well, I'll do it again if you don't leave and there's nothing no one can do about it!" She said.
"Freida get up!"
At this point, I raised my head up, my classmates were all watching this drama unfold right before our eyes, keen with interest. You'd never see them like this when a teacher's in the class...
The girl was about to stand but...
"Don't even think about it! Don't you dare stand up from that seat!" She bellowed. The poor girl was so confused, not knowing what to do. I looked closely at her.
Wasn't she the same girl who Steven, Amanda and I rescued that day from those bullies? How come she's their regular target nowadays?
Ada, Naomi and Vivian were fighting with another 'bully clique'- Patricia, Holly and Tanya over the seat arrangement which was the most suitable for both cliques as they could do whatever they want without the teachers noticing them quickly. The first clique happened to 'own' those seats but the other girls suddenly took interest in it and were now using Frieda to fight for it. I rubbed my temples, feeling frustrated by all the noise as they began to pull their hair and slap each other. I tried to ignore all the chaos and I put my head on the table again. But then I heard a familiar voice...
"Yes, Senior Tanya, I'm here" she said.
No way...
"I'm commanding you to slap her-" Tanya started.
"How dare you drag a junior into this! Don't even think about it!" Ada fired back.
"Do it!" She commanded again.
"B-but I-i" she let out a yelp and I couldn't take it anymore.
Who was the junior?
I slowly raised my head but what I saw made my blood boil.
WHAT?!!
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆Hey!
