As the VKs settled into the back of the car, Elina sat next to Mal, Evie, Carlos, and Jay, with the vehicle loaded with sweets they had never seen before. The boys quickly started squabbling over the treats, while Evie, always mindful of appearances, picked up something blue to snack on. As she ate, she pulled out a makeup brush and gently brushed it over Mal's face.
"You're looking a little washed out. Let me help you out," Evie said, trying to add a bit of color to Mal's face.
Annoyed, Mal pushed her hand away. "Ew, stop. I'm plotting."
Unfazed, Evie continued munching. "Well, it's not very attractive. Mmm," she teased, savoring her treat.
Meanwhile, Elina was holding a small hand mirror, casually using it to refresh her makeup. Little did she know, the mirror was the Looking Glass stolen from Bridget, the Queen of Hearts. Unaware of its true power—since it didn't work on the Isle—she simply saw it as a handy compact.
Carlos and Jay, on the other hand, were engrossed in the pile of sweets. Carlos tapped Jay on the shoulder, pointing out a Reese's cup he had already bitten into. "Oh! These... It's salty like nuts, but it's sweet like... I don't know what," Carlos said, marveling at the strange new taste.
Jay took the half-eaten treat from him and popped it into his mouth, nodding in approval. But when Carlos opened his mouth wide to show off his half-chewed bite, Jay smacked his shoulder, grossed out.
Amidst the chaos, Mal found a remote control and pressed a button, opening a window to the driver's seat.
"Look!" Evie exclaimed, as the car drove from the Isle onto a bridge over the sea.
Carlos panicked, "It's a trap!" and hid behind Jay as the four screamed, convinced they were about to plummet into the ocean. Elina watched their theatrics, unfazed and rolling her eyes.
"As if they'd do all this just to kill us," she muttered, reaching for another sweet as the car continued safely.
The driver pressed a button, and a golden bridge extended out of nowhere, connecting the Isle to Auradon. The VKs opened their eyes, realizing they were still on solid ground.
"What just happened?" Carlos asked, still shaken, as they all looked over at Elina.
"It's obvious they wouldn't kill us, dumbos," she replied, matter-of-factly.
Evie, her fear turning into excitement, beamed as she looked outside. "It must be magic!"
Mal, her curiosity piqued, turned back to the driver. "Hey. Did this little button just open up the magic barrier?"
The driver glanced back, holding up another remote. "No, this one opens the magic barrier. That one opens my garage." He pressed a different button, and the window separating them closed again.
Evie and Mal exchanged grins.
"Okay. Nasty. I like that guy," Mal said, with a mischievous smirk.
The car pulled up to the entrance of Auradon Prep, where a crowd of students stood, eagerly waiting, holding signs, waving, and playing music. Elina peered out of the window, her eyes narrowing in confusion. The welcoming atmosphere seemed bizarre. Why were they so excited about villains attending their school? The car came to a halt in front of a band that was playing cheerful music, and the driver stepped out, opening the door.
Carlos and Jay immediately tumbled out, locked in a struggle over a duvet.
"Oh! Ow! Ow! Stop!" Carlos yelped, tugging at the blanket as Jay pulled from the other end, also clutching a laptop. "You got everything else! Why do you want whatever this is?"
